Lam Dong Leaders Receive Ministry of Foreign Affairs Delegation

On June 12, Dinh Van Tuan, Member of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during its courtesy visit and working session with the province.

An overview of the meeting

The delegation was led by Nguyen Phuong Tra, Director General of the Middle East and Africa Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It also included representatives from the department, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, and experts specializing in the Middle East, West Asia, and Africa.

Highlighting Lam Dong's Development Potential

During the meeting, Lam Dong's leaders provided an overview of the province's socio-economic development and highlighted its key strengths, particularly in high-quality tourism, high-tech agriculture, mineral extraction and processing, and the energy sector.

The two sides also discussed opportunities to strengthen international cooperation and expand partnerships with Middle Eastern and African countries in trade, investment, tourism, education and training, and agriculture.

Seeking Stronger International Partnerships

Vice Chairman Dinh Van Tuan expressed his hope for continued support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in promoting local external relations, attracting investment, and introducing Lam Dong's image and development potential to international partners.

He also called for assistance in connecting investors in agricultural deep processing, logistics, and mechanical engineering, addressing technical barriers related to the Vietnam–United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), sharing experience in Halal tourism development, and promoting tourism links to attract visitors from the Middle East and Africa to Lam Dong.

Expanding Cooperation with the Middle East and Africa

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Phuong Tra praised Lam Dong's socio-economic achievements and affirmed that the Middle East and Africa Department would continue serving as an active bridge to help the province expand international partnerships, promote its image, attract investment, and boost exports of key products such as tea, coffee, and fresh flowers to Middle Eastern and African markets.

The meeting opened up new opportunities for cooperation, strengthened the province's international engagement and integration efforts, and created fresh momentum for Lam Dong's future socio-economic development.
