Lam Dong leaders urge faster progress on three coastal transport projects
“Project investors, local authorities, relevant departments and agencies, and contractors that fail to meet schedule and quality standards will be held accountable,” said Nguyen Minh, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, during an inspection of three key coastal transport projects on the morning of April 24.

During the inspection, the delegation reviewed the progress of several projects, including the upgrading and renovation of Nguyen Dinh Chieu – Huynh Thuc Khang Road (Mui Ne Ward), Tran Quy Cap Road (Tien Thanh Ward and Tuyen Quang Commune), and Thu Khoa Huan Road (Phu Thuy Ward). All three projects are managed by the Phan Thiet Regional Construction Investment Project Management Board.

These projects are major transport routes with large-scale investment, directly impacting tourism development, urban expansion, and local livelihoods. Specifically, the Nguyen Dinh Chieu – Huynh Thuc Khang project has a total investment of over VND 309 billion and spans more than 9 km, featuring a synchronized system of drainage, sidewalks, and road surfaces.

The Tran Quy Cap Road repair and upgrade project has a total investment of nearly VND 245 billion and spans more than 2.6 km, with a 25-meter-wide cross-section covering the roadway, sidewalks, drainage, lighting, and landscaping. The project is divided into two main construction packages, each with a different scope of work.
Meanwhile, the Thu Khoa Huan Road project has a total investment exceeding VND 88 billion, stretching approximately 2.2 km with a 20-meter-wide roadbed. It includes comprehensive technical infrastructure such as drainage, lighting, landscaping, and underground electrical systems.
According to reports, progress varies across the projects. The Nguyen Dinh Chieu – Huynh Thuc Khang project has reached about 34% of its contract volume, with site clearance completed for over 71% of cases. However, many unresolved cases continue to affect construction progress.

At the Tran Quy Cap Road project, Package No. 10 is largely complete (97% of road surface and 90% of sidewalks), but work has been temporarily suspended due to site-clearance issues. Package No. 15 has reached only about 19% completion. Overall, 153 compensation and site-clearance cases remain unresolved, posing significant challenges.
Meanwhile, the Thu Khoa Huan Road project has reached about 76% completion, with many major components already finished.

Following the inspection, Vice Chairman Nguyen Minh noted that overall progress remains behind schedule. He urged relevant units and localities to develop detailed construction plans for each road section, clearly defining responsibilities for both primary and coordinating parties.
“No more excuses should be made for delays or difficulties. Relevant units must focus on accountable implementation instead of waiting for further documents, and any issues that arise must be reported immediately for coordinated resolution.”

He also stressed the need to accelerate construction while minimizing disruptions to the daily lives and business activities of residents along these routes. At the same time, he reaffirmed that strict accountability measures will be enforced for any parties failing to meet required timelines and quality standards.
