Lam Dong Maintains Export Momentum to Accelerate Growth
With the goal of achieving double-digit economic growth in 2026, Lam Dong’s industry and trade sector has been implementing various measures to support businesses in expanding markets, promoting green production, and maintaining export growth momentum.

Following five months of vigorously executing measures for economic development, the estimated export value of Lam Dong’s processing and manufacturing sector stands at USD 750.6 million, accounting for 54% of the province’s total export turnover. These exports consist mainly of processed agricultural, forestry, and fishery products.
This achievement highlights that export-driven manufacturing remains a crucial factor in fueling the economic growth of the province.
In May alone, Lam Dong’s export turnover increased by 12.24% compared to the previous month, bringing the overall growth rate for the first five months of the year to 9.07% compared to the same period in 2025.
To meet growth targets in 2026 and the following years, the industry and trade sector is focusing on various measures to help businesses expand markets and enhance the competitiveness of export goods.

Bien Tan Tai, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade, mentioned that in order to fulfill growth targets, particularly in broadening markets for major export goods, the sector is focusing on implementing a range of strategic initiatives. Efforts are being concentrated on assisting businesses with trade promotion, establishing business connections, expanding market reach, and enhancing the competitiveness of their products.
Since the beginning of the year, the Department of Industry and Trade has guided and issued eight certificates of origin for preferential treatment under the CPTPP, four certificates under the Vietnam–Japan Agreement, and one certificate under the Vietnam–Korea Free Trade Agreement

Moreover, numerous export-oriented companies throughout the province have actively pursued and expanded into new markets to boost their orders.
Vo Thi Huynh Nhu from Ngoc Bich Mushroom Co., Ltd. in Ta Hine Commune mentioned that, despite increasing input costs, the company has upheld consistent production by effectively utilizing advanced technology in the cultivation of shiitake mushrooms.
“Currently, we operate 40 greenhouse facilities for high-tech shiitake mushroom production, with an annual output of 1,500 tons. In addition to the domestic market, we have expanded exports of dried mushrooms to South Korea and Taiwan (China),” Ms. Nhu said.

Regarding the export of processed seafood, Nguyen Thi Kim Chau from Kim Chau Seafood Co., Ltd. in La Gi Ward expressed optimism that business operations would improve further toward the end of the year, supported by the start of the southern fishing season.
Nguyen Thi Kim Chau noted that the export market is presently fairly stable with significant order quantities. In April, the company's export volume was twice that of the same month last year.

In the first five months of the year, 16 out of 18 key industrial products in Lam Dong recorded positive growth. Many sectors achieved notable increases, including electricity production up 5.11%; processed seafood and seafood products up more than 25%; processed fruits and vegetables up over 10%; fibers of all types up nearly 19%; construction bricks up more than 41%; fertilizers and nitrogen compounds up nearly 51%; and metal components up over 52%.

According to relevant authorities, Lam Dong's export activities are expected to continue their upward trend as several raw material areas enter their harvest periods. This is viewed as a crucial external resource that will help boost local economic growth in line with the province's development plan for 2026.
Leveraging tariff benefits from free trade agreements while moving towards environmentally friendly production methods to overcome technical barriers, is seen as a key strategy for Lam Dong’s exports to expand their market presence in the coming period.
