The lower crushed-stone base has reached 96%, the upper layer 90%, while M150/25 cement concrete paving for the runway has been completed.
Drainage systems, runway safety strips and runway end safety areas are also progressing in line with the overall project schedule.

Accelerating aviation infrastructure to create new growth momentum
At the meeting, ACV’s project management unit reaffirmed its commitment to completing the project on schedule so that Lien Khuong International Airport can resume operations, better serving residents and visitors while creating new momentum for Lam Dong’s socio-economic development.
ACV also stated that, alongside the current rehabilitation work, it will continue studying medium- and long-term development plans for the airport for the 2026-2030 period, with a vision toward 2045, in accordance with approved planning frameworks.
Based on directions from provincial leaders, ACV will finalize its reports and develop a detailed action plan with clear implementation milestones.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai stressed that the project carries significant importance for Lam Dong’s socio-economic development, helping strengthen connectivity, promote tourism, attract investment and meet growing travel demand.
He called on ACV and relevant stakeholders to maximize resources, take advantage of favorable weather conditions and accelerate construction while ensuring quality and safety standards.
Any emerging difficulties or obstacles, he said, should be reported promptly so provincial authorities can provide timely support and maintain construction progress.

According to Nguyen Hong Hai, once the runway rehabilitation project is completed, Lam Dong will continue coordinating with ACV to implement other components under the airport development master plan through 2030, with a vision to 2050, gradually enhancing operational capacity to meet future development needs.

He expressed confidence that, with the determination of investors, contractors and local authorities, the project will be completed on schedule and the airport will reopen as planned on August 19, 2026.

During the inspection, Party Secretary Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam praised ACV, the project management board and contractors for their sense of responsibility and determination in accelerating the project.
He acknowledged the efforts of ACV, consultants and contractors in mobilizing manpower and equipment and maintaining continuous construction activities to speed up implementation. He also commended the close coordination among provincial agencies and local authorities in resolving difficulties arising during the project.

I request ACV, the project management board and contractors to continue mobilizing maximum manpower, machinery and equipment, proactively respond to adverse weather conditions and accelerate the remaining works. The goal is to complete the project on schedule and bring Lien Khuong International Airport back into operation on August 19, 2026, as planned.
Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee
The Party Secretary emphasized that the project is strategically important and will become a new driver of provincial growth.
Under Lam Dong’s new development strategy, transport infrastructure, especially aviation infrastructure, plays a crucial role in enhancing regional connectivity, expanding development space and supporting double-digit economic growth.
With Lam Dong’s strengths in high-quality agricultural exports, including flowers, vegetables and fruits, improving the airport’s operational capacity will help reduce logistics costs and shorten delivery times to international markets such as Singapore, South Korea and other potential destinations.
The province is also planning to develop the airport area in conjunction with new urban spaces and gradually build a modern ecosystem of tourism, services and logistics.

Lam Dong Province will continue coordinating with ACV to resume existing international routes and open new ones at Lien Khuong International Airport, creating favorable conditions for tourism development, investment attraction and destination promotion.
Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee

Ahead of the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival in 2026 and upcoming international cultural and tourism events, the Party Secretary urged ACV to proactively prepare all infrastructure requirements to accommodate commercial flights, special flights and international delegations.
He also requested provincial departments and local authorities to continue accompanying and supporting the project by promptly resolving any obstacles, contributing to the province’s goal of rapid and sustainable development in the new era.
