Lam Dong People's Council Reviews New Policies on Education, Healthcare and Media
The eighth meeting of the Standing Committee of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council reviewed a wide range of proposed policies covering education, healthcare, journalism, literature and the arts, while examining the province's legal framework to ensure consistency in governance.

Education, Healthcare and Media Policies Under Review
On July 7, the Standing Committee of the 11th Lam Dong Provincial People's Council convened its eighth meeting under the chairmanship of Luu Van Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.
The meeting was attended by members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, the People's Council's specialized committees, and representatives from relevant departments and agencies.

One of the key agenda items was the review of the province's system of legal normative documents.
Based on a report presented by the review task force, delegates discussed and provided opinions on proposals to amend, supplement, replace or repeal legal documents where necessary, ensuring the consistency of the legal system and meeting governance requirements following Lam Dong Province's administrative restructuring.

The meeting also considered several new policy proposals submitted by the Provincial People's Committee in the fields of education and healthcare. These included meal allowances for students with disabilities studying at public inclusive education support centers; regulations on medical examination and treatment service fees at provincial public healthcare facilities; and support policies for teachers assigned to teach Vietnamese in the Lao People's Democratic Republic, as well as Lao students studying in Lam Dong.

In the fields of journalism, literature and the arts, the Standing Committee reviewed a proposal regulating remuneration for press deposit inspection and appraisal activities.
Delegates also examined policies related to the Lam Dong Provincial Literature and Arts Awards and the Lam Dong Provincial Press Awards.

These policies are expected to encourage creativity, improve the quality of journalism and artistic works, and promote positive values throughout society.
In addition, the Standing Committee reviewed the list of legal normative documents assigned for detailed implementation under Government decrees.

Concluding the meeting, Luu Van Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, requested the People's Council's committees and relevant agencies to continue coordinating closely, carefully reviewing the legal basis and practical implications of each policy, and conducting comprehensive impact assessments before submitting them to the competent authorities.
He emphasized that every policy should closely align with the province's development needs while addressing the practical demands of local residents. Policies must also be practical and feasible so they can be effectively implemented and deliver tangible benefits shortly after their adoption.
