Provincial leaders pledge practical support for businesses

Addressing the gathering, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Muoi said the meeting, held on Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day on October 13, provided an opportunity for the provincial administration and the business community to meet, exchange views and better understand one another. He described it as an occasion for the province to express its appreciation for entrepreneurs and businesses and their contributions in recent years.

Ho Van Muoi, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, reaffirms the province’s commitment to working alongside businesses to support their growth.

Chairman Ho Van Muoi acknowledged that Lam Dong had faced considerable challenges during the more than 15 months since the administrative merger. Nevertheless, concerted efforts across the political system, public support and cooperation from the business community had helped the province achieve positive results.

The province’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) grew by 7.47% in the first quarter of 2026, 7.9% in the first half of the year and 8.51% in the first nine months. Growth reached 9.65% in the third quarter alone.

Although growth remained below expectations, Chairman Ho Van Muoi said the results reflected the efforts of the entire political system, supported by the commitment and cooperation of local entrepreneurs and businesses.

The provincial budget had collected more than 82% of its revenue target to date, Chairman Ho Van Muoi said. Authorities had also resolved difficulties affecting nearly 200 of the 365 non-state-funded investment projects, including some that had remained stalled for as long as 20 years. Removing these obstacles, he said, was crucial to enabling investors to continue operating and developing their projects in the province.

Meanwhile, national defence, security and public order had been maintained, providing a stable foundation for businesses to sustain operations and expand into new markets.

“

Lam Dong is grateful to the entrepreneurs and businesses that have stood alongside the province. At times, we faced challenges that seemed almost insurmountable, particularly natural disasters. But through determination and solidarity, we overcame those difficulties and are moving forward with confidence, targeting double-digit economic growth.

Chairman Ho Van Muoi also cited remarks by To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and State President, at a recent meeting with businesses and entrepreneurs in Hanoi: “A strong country provides a foundation for businesses to reach further. Strong businesses, in turn, help build the nation’s strength.”

The statement, Chairman Ho Van Muoi said, reflects the Party and State’s recognition of entrepreneurs’ contributions, commitment to protecting their legitimate interests and determination to create conditions for businesses to develop their capabilities, pursue legitimate prosperity and contribute to national development.

From commitments to action

Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Muoi stressed that Lam Dong would continue to face difficulties and challenges in the coming period. The provincial leadership therefore pledged to maintain close engagement with businesses and work with them to address obstacles.

He said this commitment must be demonstrated through concrete action and measurable results, rather than words alone. Provincial departments, agencies and local authorities would work to create the most favourable conditions for businesses operating in Lam Dong.

“

We must treat every business project as our own, and every difficulty facing a business as a problem affecting our own family.

The provincial administration would step up administrative reform and engage more closely and directly with entrepreneurs, Muoi said. This would help authorities identify problems earlier and resolve them promptly, supporting business operations and economic development.

The province also called on businesses to uphold their responsibilities as partners in local development. These include fulfilling commitments to bring investment projects into operation, complying with the law, protecting the environment, looking after workers and creating lasting value for the local community.

A durable partnership between government and business, the province said, depends on shared responsibility. Lam Dong would take on board feedback from entrepreneurs and enterprises to improve policies and the institutional environment. Departments, agencies and local authorities were expected to listen to concerns and follow through until issues were resolved.

A business community driving jobs and growth

As of September 2026, Lam Dong had approximately 31,000 operating businesses with total registered capital exceeding VND 320 trillion. These enterprises provided jobs for around 270,000 workers.

In the first nine months of 2026, the province recorded 3,264 newly registered businesses, with combined registered capital of more than VND 17 trillion. The number of new businesses rose 8.3% year on year, while registered capital increased 10.6%. A further 726 businesses resumed operations, up 5% from the same period in 2025.

Of the province’s approximately 31,000 operating businesses, more than 13,000 are private enterprises, nearly 80% of which are small and medium-sized businesses. The private sector contributes more than 45% of Lam Dong’s GRDP and provides stable employment for over 150,000 workers.

Local entrepreneurs and businesses have contributed to state budget revenue and employment while helping drive technology adoption, innovation, market expansion and improvements in product value. Their efforts are increasingly important to the province’s economic growth and long-term sustainability.

To support business development, Lam Dong has been implementing measures to improve its investment and business environment, including shortening procedures related to investment, construction and land. The province has also reviewed land availability and planning and developed lists of projects intended to attract investors with the financial and operational capacity to deliver them.

Authorities have taken a proactive role in resolving difficulties affecting hundreds of business projects, particularly those financed outside the state budget.

Through these measures, Lam Dong aims to provide businesses with a favourable, transparent and equitable operating environment within the law.
