The event brought together more than 1,000 participants, including provincial leaders, officials, public employees, students, and local residents. Among those in attendance were Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Trong Yen and Vice Chairman Dinh Van Tuan.
In her opening address, Director of the Department of Health Huynh Thi Phuong Duyen emphasized that health is the most valuable asset of every individual, forming the foundation of family happiness and a key driver of sustainable socio-economic development. She highlighted that the rally serves not only as a ceremonial launch but also as a strong call for collective action—encouraging individuals, families, and communities to take proactive steps in protecting and improving their health.

In recent years, with strong support from all levels of government, Lam Dong has achieved notable progress in public healthcare. Many infectious diseases have been effectively controlled, while community health programs, screening initiatives, and nutritional counseling services have been expanded. Public awareness of health protection has also steadily improved.

In his remarks, Vice Chairman Dinh Van Tuan said 2026 marks a significant milestone with the nationwide launch of Vietnam’s National Health Day. He said the campaign theme is more than a slogan, reflecting a fundamental shift in development thinking: putting people at the center and viewing public health as both a foundation and a driver of sustainable growth.
He further underscored the transition from a treatment-focused approach to a prevention-oriented model, encouraging proactive, continuous, and comprehensive health management for every citizen.

Despite encouraging achievements, Lam Dong continues to face emerging health challenges, including the rise of non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular conditions, cancer, and diabetes, along with pressures from population aging and modern lifestyle risks such as physical inactivity, unhealthy diets, and substance use.

These challenges highlight the urgent need for a stronger shift toward preventive healthcare. Provincial leaders called on all levels of government, sectors, and localities to recognize public health as a central and continuous mission. Health indicators must be integrated into socio-economic development plans, while practical movements promoting physical exercise, environmental sanitation, and healthy lifestyles should be widely implemented.
At the same time, the healthcare sector is expected to continue strengthening its core role, particularly by improving the quality of grassroots healthcare services—ensuring accessibility and early health management at the community level.
