Lam Dong Raises the Ambition for Da Lat Flower Festival 2026
Da Lat Flower Festival 2026 is expanding beyond flowers to connect culture, tourism, agriculture and community participation across Lam Dong.

From a flower celebration to a cultural and tourism brand
After 10 editions, the Da Lat Flower Festival has evolved beyond a celebration of flower growing into one of Lam Dong's distinctive cultural and tourism brands.
Over the years, the festival has become a meeting point for flower lovers, growers, artisans and visitors from Vietnam and abroad.
During each edition, the Da Lat urban area is transformed into a vast open-air stage, with flowers appearing along streets, in public squares and parks, in residential neighborhoods, tourism facilities and private gardens.
The value of the festival, however, lies in more than the volume of flowers on display or the scale of its artistic programs.
It has also helped celebrate flower growers, showcase agricultural achievements and strengthen links between agriculture, tourism, commerce and services.

The festival's growing profile has contributed to the development of agricultural tourism, community-based tourism and flower-village experiences, creating new ways to increase the commercial value of flowers and expand local livelihoods.
It also provides opportunities for businesses, growers, artisans and researchers to meet and exchange ideas on new varieties, cultivation technologies, floral design and changing consumer trends.
Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Chairman Ho Van Muoi, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, has called for clear plans and implementation schedules to ensure thorough preparations for the 11th festival.
He described the event as a distinctive asset of Lam Dong and urged agencies and localities to prepare proactively so that the festival can leave a strong and lasting impression.

The festival also generates wider economic and social effects. Increased visitor numbers during the event create additional demand for accommodation, food and beverages, transportation, shopping and experiential tourism products.
At the same time, widespread exposure of Da Lat's flowers, people and landscapes helps maintain the destination's appeal beyond the festival period.
Perhaps most importantly, the event has become a platform for community participation.
Da Lat Flower Festival 2026 brings together flowers, music and culture
Under the theme “Da Lat – A Symphony of Flowers and Music,” the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival will broaden the way Lam Dong tells the story of its landscape and people.
Flowers will be connected with music, indigenous culture, cuisine, OCOP products, tea, coffee, wine and a range of visitor experiences.
The 2026 festival also provides an opportunity to further promote Da Lat's status as a UNESCO Creative City of Music, adding a new cultural dimension to a festival already familiar to audiences nationwide.

The festival's footprint will extend beyond Xuan Huong Lake and the central streets of the Da Lat urban area.
Related activities will take place across a wider area, drawing on the distinctive strengths of different parts of the province and presenting Lam Dong through its diverse landscapes, cultures and local products.
Programs featuring brocade, coffee, cuisine, wellness tourism and “Treasures of the Sea” reflect an effort to bring together the province's coastal, highland and flower-growing identities.
Flowers, however, will remain the centerpiece.
The Da Lat Flower Association has proposed a flower exhibition space of around 500 square meters, showcasing new flower and foliage varieties such as arum, chrysanthemums, roses, poinsettias, lisianthus, sunflowers, orchids, cymbidiums, lilies and Viking begonias.

Potted and long-lasting flowers will be prioritized, while shorter-lived varieties will be replaced as needed to keep the displays fresh throughout the festival.
The Lam Dong Phalaenopsis Orchid International Exhibition and an international artistic fresh-flower exhibition are also expected to take place at Da Lat College. The events will serve not only as exhibitions but also as spaces where visitors can explore, take photographs and experience new floral designs.
Phan Thanh Sang, Chairman of the Da Lat Flower Association, said the association plans to mobilize sponsorship for flowers to decorate around 1,000 vehicles involved in the opening ceremony's artistic program.
The association will also encourage its members to contribute to the festival's floral spaces and introduce new flower and decorative foliage varieties.

Communities help shape the festival
Preparations are also taking place at the grassroots level.
Several central wards in the Da Lat urban area have developed specific plans to contribute to the festival landscape.
Xuan Huong-Da Lat Ward plans to upgrade 10 major streets with 17 landscape clusters, while Lam Vien-Da Lat Ward is preparing six flower streets.
Cam Ly-Da Lat Ward plans improvements along six streets. Xuan Truong-Da Lat Ward will develop floral installations across 12 residential groups, while Lang Biang-Da Lat Ward plans floral models at six streets and locations.
The province currently has approximately 12,510 hectares of flowers and ornamental plants, with estimated annual production of around 4.5 billion flower buds across about 400 species and varieties.
Lam Dong also has three concentrated high-tech flower production zones and five major flower-growing villages, providing a substantial agricultural foundation for a festival rooted in the province's actual strengths.
Mobilizing resources for Da Lat Flower Festival 2026
The 11th Da Lat Flower Festival is expected to feature 11 major programs and 25 supporting activities, with the main events concentrated in December 2026.
To coordinate the extensive preparations, the provincial administration has established a steering committee and specialized teams responsible for organization, finance and sponsorship, reception and logistics, security, communications and promotion.
The agencies leading individual programs are finalizing plans, scripts, organizational arrangements, budgets and mechanisms for mobilizing social resources.

The opening and closing ceremonies are among the key priorities.
The Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has invited experts to develop concepts, with the aim of selecting programs that combine artistic quality with the festival theme and Lam Dong's distinctive identity.
The estimated budget for the two ceremonies is around VND30 billion, with the province seeking greater direct sponsorship from businesses to support implementation and flexibility.
Preparations are also spreading from the urban center into residential communities.
As of late September, 54 communes and wards in Lam Dong had issued plans in response to the campaign encouraging residents to plant flowers and greenery in preparation for the 11th festival.

Dang Quang Tu, Secretary of the Lam Vien-Da Lat Ward Party Committee, said the ward is organizing a competition encouraging each residential group to create a flower street as part of its “bright, green, clean and beautiful” campaign.
The ward plans simultaneous environmental cleanups and flower-planting activities across all 17 residential groups. A separate community tree-planting project is expected to add around 600 Japanese cherry trees at the Valley of Love tourism site, with participation from residents and visitors.
Communications are also being developed across multiple platforms and in multiple languages.
At the same time, authorities are reviewing traffic arrangements, parking, security, healthcare, reception for delegates and visitor services. The schedules and venues of some events are being adjusted to reflect practical conditions and the schedules of international artists.

Making the festival part of everyday life
Raising the profile of the Da Lat Flower Festival is ultimately about more than adding programs or creating larger floral installations.
The broader goal is to make flowers a lasting part of urban life and use the festival as a platform that places growers and businesses closer to the center of the value chain — turning each edition into an opportunity for promotion, trade, creativity and new connections.
When public authorities provide the framework, businesses actively contribute and residents become genuine participants, the 2026 Da Lat Flower Festival can become more than a seasonal celebration.
It can serve as a showcase for Lam Dong's agricultural strengths, cultural identity, creative industries and tourism potential — while giving the flower-growing tradition at the heart of Da Lat a larger stage and a wider future.
