Earlier, Mr. Tran Xuan Vinh, a resident of Doan Ket Hamlet, Ta Nang Commune, discovered a gibbon appearing in his home garden. He safely captured the animal and proactively handed it over to local authorities. Upon inspection, the gibbon weighed approximately 10 kilograms, was in stable health, and was classified as a Group IB species—a category of critically endangered, rare wildlife subject to strict legal protection under Vietnamese law.

On the morning of January 7, in Dam Rong 2 Commune (Lam Dong Province), Mr. Le Duy Khanh voluntarily handed over one civet and one wild junglefowl to authorities. Following coordination, health inspection, and documentation, functional forces released both animals back into their natural habitat later the same day.

Local authorities highly commended the residents’ sense of responsibility and environmental awareness. These actions are seen as positive signals demonstrating the effectiveness of ongoing communication and advocacy efforts aimed at discouraging the hunting, captivity, and illegal trade of wildlife across the province.
