Lam Dong has become the first locality in Vietnam to launch a province-wide 180-day intensive campaign aimed at removing development bottlenecks, unlocking resources and achieving a GRDP growth rate of more than 10% in 2026.
Industrial production in Lam Dong continues to make a significant contribution to the province’s GRDP growth.
A province-wide push from the grassroots
In the first six months of 2026, Lam Dong recorded GRDP growth of 7.9%, up two percentage points from the same period in 2025, ranking 24th among Vietnam’s 34 provinces and centrally governed cities. In the second quarter alone, the province achieved 9.22% growth, placing 14th nationwide.
To reach its annual growth target of 10%, Lam Dong must sustain growth of over 12% during the final two quarters of the year. With that goal in mind, the province recently became the first in the country to launch the “180 Days and Nights of Determination to Achieve Double-Digit GRDP Growth” campaign.
Following the launch, government agencies, local authorities and businesses across the province immediately began implementing concrete actions to contribute to the shared growth target.
Lam Dong’s industrial sector recorded strong growth in the second quarter of 2026.
As the province’s lead agency for economic management, the Department of Finance has intensified efforts to fulfill a wide range of key responsibilities. According to Director Le Ngoc Tien, achieving double-digit growth is an ambitious challenge, but one that is entirely attainable if the entire political system acts decisively, cohesively and effectively.
The department will proactively advise the provincial government on implementing growth measures under the principle of “six clarities”. Growth scenarios will be updated in line with evolving conditions, enabling local authorities and agencies to stay on track.

According to Le Ngoc Tien, the department is urging agencies and localities to speed up several strategic infrastructure projects, including the Gia Nghia–Chon Thanh section of the North–South Expressway (western route), the Tan Phu–Bao Loc Expressway, the Bao Loc–Lien Khuong Expressway, additional works on the Vinh Hao–Phan Thiet Expressway, and the civil aviation component of Phan Thiet Airport.
The department will also focus on strengthening state budget revenue by tapping potential revenue sources, preventing revenue losses and recovering tax arrears. At the same time, solutions have been identified to resolve obstacles facing 245 non-budget investment projects.
Lam Dong is expanding high-tech agricultural production to increase product value and contribute more substantially to GRDP.
Alongside government efforts, businesses are accelerating production and expanding operations. Vien Son Joint Stock Company is working toward meeting its production and business targets while contributing to the province’s growth objectives.
According to General Director Tran Duy Da, achieving double-digit growth is not only the responsibility of government authorities but also of the business community.
In 2026, the company aims to increase exports of processed agricultural products to 6,000 tonnes, up 20% from 2025. It is also expanding deep-processing operations to shift from exporting raw materials to higher-value products.
“We see science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and productivity improvement as the driving forces behind our development. Only by investing in modern technologies, upgrading machinery and automating production lines can we improve productivity, product quality and processing efficiency,” he said
To achieve these goals, the company encourages employees to develop technical innovations and improvement initiatives while maintaining an annual KPI-based performance evaluation system to clearly measure the performance of each department and individual.
Tourism and services continue to grow strongly in Lam Dong, with the sector ranking 7th among Vietnam’s 34 provinces and centrally governed cities for second-quarter growth in 2026.
Meanwhile, Xuan Huong–Da Lat Ward has also committed itself to achieving the province’s double-digit growth target. The ward identifies tourism and services not only as key economic sectors but also as the primary drivers of local development.
According to Tran Thi Vu Loan, Chairwoman of Xuan Huong–Da Lat Ward People’s Committee, the locality aims for the service and trade sector to account for 80–85% of its economic structure in 2026, with total production value expected to grow by 19.17%.
Agriculture remains a stable and important contributor to Lam Dong’s GRDP.
To realize this goal, the ward places people at the center of development. Responsibility, leadership and accountability among public officials are considered essential, with local authorities working closely alongside businesses, households and residents to achieve socio-economic targets.
The ward will continue implementing clear decentralization across finance, investment, construction, land management and other sectors while prioritizing the digitization of administrative procedures to reduce processing time and costs for citizens.
To achieve the provincial target of 10% GRDP growth in 2026, Lam Dong must record growth of more than 12% during the second half of the year. This requires growth of 16.81% in industry and construction, 16.51% in services, and approximately 5.8% in agriculture.
Economic growth becomes the benchmark for performance
Halfway through 2026, Lam Dong has delivered encouraging results despite numerous challenges.

These achievements are reflected in economic growth, state budget revenue, investment attraction, the resolution of long-delayed projects and the continued recovery of tourism.
Chairman Ho Van Muoi stressed that with fewer than 180 days remaining in 2026, the workload ahead remains substantial. This period will be decisive for accelerating progress and delivering breakthroughs in achieving the province’s annual socio-economic targets.
Basic infrastructure construction is gaining momentum across Lam Dong.
To achieve GRDP growth exceeding 10%, departments, sectors and local authorities are expected to introduce stronger innovations in leadership, governance and administration. Heads of agencies and local governments will be held directly accountable to the Provincial People's Committee for the growth targets assigned to them.
Each agency and locality is required to develop and effectively implement sector-specific growth scenarios while proactively addressing emerging obstacles.

Outlining priorities for the second half of the year, Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, acknowledged that achieving double-digit GRDP growth is highly challenging but essential for Lam Dong’s long-term development. He called for maximizing the province’s untapped potential and emerging development space to contribute more effectively to national growth.
Lam Dong is accelerating efforts to remove bottlenecks affecting non-budget investment projects, including several major energy developments.
To maximize the effectiveness of the “180 Golden Days” campaign, the Provincial Party Secretary instructed all sectors and localities to review and adjust their growth scenarios while identifying concrete measures to secure double-digit growth in 2026.
Each agency and locality must clearly identify sectors with additional growth potential, projects capable of generating immediate economic impact, resources available for mobilization, administrative bottlenecks requiring resolution and realistic timelines for delivering measurable results. Based on these assessments, implementation plans should remain proactive, flexible and action-oriented.

Achieving double-digit GRDP growth is more than a challenging economic target—it is a measure of Lam Dong’s determination, governance capacity and ambition to accelerate development in 2026.
Although the province’s first-half GRDP growth of 7.9% remains below expectations, the economy has demonstrated encouraging structural strengths that provide a solid foundation for stronger growth.
With the entire political system united behind the effort, the “180 Days and Nights of Determination to Achieve Double-Digit Growth” campaign underway and the province's economic structure steadily improving, Lam Dong possesses the momentum and potential needed to confidently pursue its ambitious development goals.
