Lam Dong’s coastal tourism bustles in the early days of the new year
On the first days of the new year, coastal destinations across Lam Dong Province have welcomed large numbers of visitors. The vibrant atmosphere sets a promising tone for the province’s tourism development targets for 2026.
Although the 2026 New Year holiday lasted four days, Lam Dong’s coastal areas were already bustling within just the first two days (January 1st–2nd). Public beach resorts, in particular, proved highly attractive, drawing large crowds of tourists for sightseeing and recreational activities.
Public beaches draw crowds
Doi Duong Beach, located in La Gi Ward, is a public beach that has retained its natural charm, featuring an open, airy environment and a long stretch of coastline. The beach is a favorite destination for both local residents and visitors from other provinces whenever they travel to La Gi.
Observations show that service stalls have been operating steadily, with prices clearly listed and charged as posted. There have been no cases of aggressive solicitation or price inflation. Public order and security are well maintained, while parking areas are neatly arranged, ensuring convenience and peace of mind for tourists.

Ms. Thi Xuan Thinh Huynh, owner of a parking lot and a resident of Residential Group 6, Binh Tan Quarter, La Gi Ward, said: “Compared to last year, the overall number of visitors has not changed significantly. However, on the very first day of the 2026 New Year holiday, the number of tourists was extremely high.”

Public beach areas in Phan Thiet and Mui Ne wards have also remained consistently crowded. Well-known destinations such as Hon Rom Beach, along with the front and back beaches of Mui Ne, continue to be familiar stops for travel agencies and attract large numbers of visitors.
The Ong Dia Rock Beach area, in particular, appeals mainly to families and international tourists, thanks to its scenic landscape and a variety of marine sports, including surfing, which remains a popular activity.

Meanwhile, the Bau Trang tourist area in Hoa Thang Commune has welcomed a large influx of both domestic and international visitors. Many tour groups have gathered here to embark on sand dune exploration tours and enjoy the sunrise over the dunes in the early morning.

The cool air, fresh climate, thrilling off-road motorbike rides on the sand, and photo-taking activities have delighted visitors. Most tourists are individual travelers, families, or self-driving groups from nearby localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Tay Ninh.

Checking in the sunrise
According to visitor Xuan Khanh Van from Ho Chi Minh City, watching the sunrise over the dunes is a breathtaking experience, giving visitors the feeling of stepping into a miniature desert and offering ideal conditions for stunning photo shoots. The area is very clean, free of litter, and the locals are friendly.

Promoting growth in 2026
It is recorded that during the first two days of the new year, the coastal tourism route of Lam Dong Province—featuring beach resorts and marine sports—continued to attract strong interest from visitors. Room occupancy rates at several hotels and resorts in Ham Tien ward and Mui Ne ward reached high levels, with some facilities reporting full occupancy.

Areas along Vo Nguyen Giap Street stretching toward Hoa Thang – Hoa Phu have also become popular check-in hotspots. From around 9 a.m., visitors flocked to capture the blooming yellow melaleuca flowers. Though simple and rustic, the flowers add a gentle charm to sunny Mui Ne, leaving a lasting impression on tourists.

In 2025, Lam Dong Province welcomed over 20.7 million visitors, up 18% compared to 2024 and exceeding the annual plan by 6%. International arrivals reached approximately 1.28 million, marking an increase of nearly 40% year-on-year. Tourism revenue was estimated at VND 56.8 trillion, up 24.5% from the previous year.

To ensure safety and service quality during the 2026 New Year holiday and the upcoming Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), the provincial tourism sector has directed local authorities and tourism operators to make comprehensive preparations for welcoming and serving visitors.
At the same time, Lam Dong province is stimulating tourism demand by diversifying cultural, sports, and tourism activities while developing new products with distinctive characteristics. These efforts are key to strengthening the province's brand identity and promoting the image of Lam Dong in particular and Vietnam in general.

In 2026, Lam Dong Province aims to welcome more than 25 million visitors, including 1.8 million international arrivals—representing increases of 12% and 38.5%, respectively, compared to 2025. The province is striving to further affirm its position as one of the most attractive destinations in the region and nationwide.
