Lam Dong set for busy summer 2026 tourism season
Lam Dong is preparing to enter a peak tourist season, with major public holidays and a vibrant summer expected to draw large numbers of visitors. Ensuring its reputation as a safe destination remains a top priority for local authorities.

Proactive measures to ensure safety and security
According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, local authorities and tourism businesses have been urged to prepare facilities and services, while ensuring visitor safety during the April 30th - May 1st holiday and the 2026 summer peak season.
Tourism operators are required to regularly inspect business conditions, infrastructure, and safety standards. Management boards of key destinations—including Tuyen Lam National Tourism Area, Bidoup – Nui Ba National Park, and Ta Dung National Park—along with other tourist sites, have been asked to strengthen safety measures.
Special attention is being paid to high-risk areas such as waterfalls, lakes, rivers, streams, beaches, coastal zones, and internal transport systems. Travel companies are strictly prohibited from offering tourism products that could pose risks to visitors’ health and safety without prior approval from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Authorities have also conducted inspections of high-risk tourism services, particularly off-road vehicle tours on sand dunes in the Bau Trang area. Recent inspections showed that all operators met safety requirements under government regulations. Businesses have been reminded to strictly comply with all relevant tourism safety standards.
Earlier this year, the provincial government approved a project on ensuring safety and security in tourism activities. The initiative aims to strengthen Lam Dong’s image as a safe destination and position it as a leading tourism, resort, and entertainment hub at both national and international levels.
Safety is key to the travel experience.
With the rise of new tourism products, especially adventure tourism such as mountain climbing and cave exploration, as well as marine sports like stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), kayaking, diving, paragliding, and kitesurfing, potential safety risks remain a concern.
Ensuring safety in tourism activities has therefore become a key focus for Lam Dong, with coordinated efforts from multiple departments, sectors, and local authorities to deliver practical results.
Taking advantage of upcoming events, including Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day and the April 30th - May 1st holiday, many travelers from southern provinces are planning trips that combine coastal destinations like Mui Ne with the highland city of Da Lat. Minh Duc and his group of friends from Ho Chi Minh City are looking forward to reliving the thrill of off-road rides across dunes, an experience they first enjoyed years ago. Meanwhile, Mai Lien, an ocean lover from Tay Ninh, hopes to visit Phu Quy Island to try scuba diving and experience life “like a mermaid” in the open sea.
Visitors expressed confidence that with continued efforts by local authorities, enhanced safety measures will help create a positive impression of Lam Dong as a diverse, attractive, and safe travel destination.
