Lam Dong stay top of Group B with 3–0 win over Mekong Can Tho
Lam Dong secured a convincing 3–0 home victory over Mekong Can Tho on April 25 despite a difficult first half, maintaining their lead in Group B at the end of the first leg of the 2026 National Second Division football championship.

The match proved far from straightforward for Lam Dong, even though Mekong Can Tho entered the game at the bottom of the standings with just one point from five matches. In contrast, the hosts had collected 13 points from four wins and one draw, leading Group B.
However, Mekong Can Tho’s high-intensity pressing and physical approach disrupted most of Lam Dong’s attacking efforts in the opening half. It was not until stoppage time (45+2) that Lam Dong broke the deadlock, when Nguyen Dinh Duc (No. 27) headed home from a set-piece to give the hosts a 1–0 lead.

The second half saw a dominant Lam Dong side, as they continuously pushed forward and created sustained pressure on the visitors’ defense. After several missed chances, the hosts doubled their lead in the 75th minute through a well-taken strike by Vu Hung Manh (No. 10) from close range.

Lam Dong sealed the victory in the 88th minute when Huynh Quang Thai (No. 20) converted a penalty following a foul inside the box by a Mekong Can Tho defender.

With this result, Lam Dong now have 16 points after six matches (five wins, one draw), remaining firmly at the top of Group B.
The second leg of the competition is set to begin on May 6, when Lam Dong travel to Buon Ma Thuot to face Dak Lak.
