Lam Dong Strengthens Anti-Counterfeit Efforts to Drive Double-Digit Growth

The conference was co-chaired by Le Trong Yen, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of Steering Committee 389; and Nguyen Ba Ut, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Department of Industry and Trade.

The meeting was held in person at the Provincial People's Committee headquarters and connected online with communes, wards and special administrative zones across the province.

During the first six months of 2026, enforcement agencies under Steering Committee 389 conducted inspections in 2,065 cases, detecting and handling 1,819 violations involving smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Administrative fines exceeded VND 23.8 billion, while confiscated goods were valued at more than VND 3.2 billion. Authorities also initiated criminal proceedings in 66 cases involving 93 suspects.

At the commune and ward levels, local enforcement agencies detected and handled 60 violations, imposing administrative fines totaling more than VND 155 million.

Meanwhile, the Department of Industry and Trade continued to implement its work program with strong results. The province's Industrial Production Index (IIP) increased 9.6% year-on-year, while total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached nearly VND 97.607 trillion, up 17.33% compared to the same period last year.

The sector also focused on removing obstacles facing key energy projects, promoting industrial and commercial development, and improving the local investment and business environment.

During the conference, delegates discussed existing challenges and proposed practical solutions to enhance the effectiveness of combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

Balancing Market Integrity with Economic Growth

Concluding the conference, Le Trong Yen, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of Steering Committee 389, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and sense of responsibility demonstrated by Steering Committee 389 and the Industry and Trade sector during the first half of the year.

He called on Steering Committee 389 at all levels to strengthen public awareness campaigns, intensify inspections and market surveillance, and strictly handle acts of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods while preventing the emergence of violation hotspots, protecting consumer rights and maintaining market stability.

The Industry and Trade sector must implement comprehensive and decisive measures to achieve the province's double-digit growth target. At the same time, it should proactively coordinate with ministries, central agencies and localities to accelerate industrial and energy infrastructure projects, effectively tap the potential of the digital economy, and strengthen state management of market activities.
