Lam Dong Strengthens Cooperation with Chuncheon City
Building on a longstanding friendship, Lam Dong Province and Chuncheon City of Gangwon Province, South Korea, continue to strengthen ties and expand cooperation to unlock the full potential and advantages of each locality.

Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Minh, together with representatives from provincial departments and agencies, recently held a working session with a delegation from Chuncheon City, Gangwon Province (South Korea), led by Vice Mayor Hyeon Jun Tae. The meeting focused on exploring cooperation opportunities across multiple sectors and further deepening the friendly relationship between the two localities.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Minh introduced Lam Dong Province’s development potential, strengths and strategic orientation following the recent administrative merger.
With a natural area of more than 24,233 square kilometers and a population exceeding 3.8 million, Lam Dong possesses significant advantages in tourism, high-tech agriculture, processing industries, renewable energy and the marine economy. These sectors also offer substantial opportunities for expanding international cooperation.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Minh noted that cooperation between the former Da Lat City and Chuncheon City was established in 2016, formalized through a sister-city agreement in 2019, and has continued to grow over the years. Numerous cultural, sports, human resource training and civil servant exchange programs have been implemented effectively, helping strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two localities.

Expanding strategic Cooperation in tourism, high-tech agriculture and human resource development
Building on these achievements, Nguyen Minh proposed that both sides continue maximizing existing cooperation frameworks while translating them into practical, in-depth and long-term collaborative programs.
Priority areas include expanding cultural, artistic and sports exchanges; strengthening human resource development; promoting business connectivity, trade and tourism promotion and investment attraction.
In particular, high-tech agriculture has been identified as one of the most promising areas for cooperation, given the shared strengths of both localities.

Provincial leaders also expressed their desire to expand tourism promotion activities, strengthen high-quality workforce training programs, and create favorable conditions for businesses and investors from Chuncheon City to explore investment and partnership opportunities in Lam Dong Province.

Speaking at the meeting, Hyeon Jun Tae, Vice Mayor of Chuncheon City, expressed appreciation for the warm reception extended by Lam Dong’s leaders and highly valued the province’s development potential, advantages and future orientation.
He affirmed that Chuncheon City places great importance on its longstanding partnership with the former Da Lat City and present-day Lam Dong Province, and wishes to further expand cooperation in areas such as education, biotechnology, disaster prevention and people-to-people exchanges.

Both sides agreed to further strengthen connections and maximize the effectiveness of existing cooperation frameworks, thereby deepening bilateral friendship and opening new opportunities in economic development, culture, education and tourism in the years ahead.
On this occasion, leaders of Lam Dong Province and the Chuncheon City delegation exchanged commemorative gifts, symbolizing their friendship and reaffirming their commitment to continued cooperation in a new development phase.
