Lam Dong Strengthens Foreign Affairs and International Integration
On the afternoon of January 13, the Lam Dong Department of Foreign Affairs held a conference to review its 2025 performance and outline tasks for 2026. The event was attended by Comrade Nguyen Minh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee.

According to the report, despite its official establishment in July 2025, the Department of Foreign Affairs has gradually affirmed its role as the province’s focal advisory body on external relations.
In the field of international integration and cooperation, the department has advised on the issuance and implementation of key plans to carry out resolutions and action programs of the Central Government and the Provincial Party Committee on international integration in the new context. It has also contributed to consolidating the provincial Steering Committee for International Integration, participated in policy consultations, and enhanced professional capacity building.

Cooperation with traditional partners such as Laos and Japan continued to be strengthened, while new partnerships were expanded with localities and partners in Turkey, Cuba, Belarus and the Republic of Korea. The signing and implementation of international agreements strictly adhered to legal regulations. During the year, 13 previously signed agreements were reviewed, two new agreements were approved, and cooperation was expanded with two foreign localities.

Economic diplomacy was further promoted through the issuance of the Economic Diplomacy Plan for the 2025–2026 period, with a vision toward 2030. The Department coordinated the provision of information and support for foreign enterprises and investors seeking to explore the province’s investment environment, while advising provincial leaders to participate in international economic forums and conferences to promote Lam Dong’s potential and mobilize development resources.

In cultural diplomacy, Party diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy, the province implemented its Cultural Diplomacy Strategy toward 2030, intensified the promotion of Lam Dong’s image, culture and tourism, and maintained exchanges and friendly cooperation with foreign localities, diplomatic missions and international organizations.
Consular affairs and citizen protection were carried out in a timely and effective manner. In 2025, the department managed 20 outbound and 197 inbound delegations, and handled dozens of cases related to foreign nationals, Vietnamese citizens overseas and citizen protection in accordance with regulations.
The approval of international conferences and seminars, foreign affairs protocol activities and consular legalization was conducted in a disciplined manner, contributing to a transparent and secure external relations environment.

Regarding border and territorial affairs, the Department of Foreign Affairs advised on the effective management and protection of more than 141 kilometers of border with Cambodia. It coordinated patrols and addressed issues related to boundary markers, landslides and cross-border waterways, while strengthening external communications on border sovereignty and maritime issues.
Activities involving foreign non-governmental organizations achieved positive results, with seven projects implemented at a total value of over VND 26 billion, delivering tangible benefits to local communities.

Addressing the conference, Comrade Nguyen Minh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee commended the department’s achievements in 2025 and called for a strong focus on key tasks in 2026.

He emphasized the need to further improve the quality of foreign affairs advisory work for the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and clear priorities closely aligned with socio-economic development goals. In international cooperation and economic diplomacy, he urged a focus on key partners and priority sectors that leverage the province's competitive advantages, thereby ensuring substantive and effective cooperation.

At the same time, the department was asked to continue strictly managing outbound and inbound delegations, consular affairs and citizen protection; to build a professional foreign affairs workforce; to promote administrative reform and digital transformation; and to strengthen coordination among departments, sectors and local authorities.
