Practical Support Measures
Under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing for the biological children of resistance fighters exposed to toxic chemicals, Lam Dong Province has mobilized multiple resources to assist families facing housing difficulties. The newly built and repaired homes not only provide safe shelter but also reflect the community's care and shared responsibility for families affected by chemical warfare.

In many localities, houses under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing for biological children of resistance fighters exposed to toxic chemicals are being urgently completed and handed over.

In Nam Dong Commune, alongside government funding, the commune's Fatherland Front Committee raised over 50 million VND to support the construction of five new homes for relatives of resistance fighters exposed to toxic chemicals. To date, these homes are largely completed, offering stable shelter for the five families.

Nguyen Van Trong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Dong Commune, emphasized that caring for policy beneficiaries, toxic chemical victims, and their relatives is an important political task that reflects the national tradition of gratitude.

"Moving forward, Nam Dong Commune will continue mobilizing social resources and implementing practical activities to care for their livelihoods, helping ease the losses and disadvantages borne by chemical victims and their families,"

Creating Livelihoods and Opportunities for a better life.
Beyond housing support, assistance for toxic chemical victims across Lam Dong Province is also focused on creating sustainable livelihoods tailored to each family's health and circumstances.

Ly Quoc Phu in Dak Trung Village, Nam Da Commune, is a second-generation victim of toxic chemical exposure. Due to poor health that prevents him from doing heavy manual work, he sought an economic path suited to his capabilities to generate income and gain independence.

Three years ago, Phu accessed preferential loan capital from the Social Policies Bank. With this capital, he invested in machinery and opened an aluminum and glass door production workshop. Over time, the workshop stabilized, generating steady income for his family while offering work suited to his health. "My current job fits my physical condition, providing income to support my family and ensure my children can attend school," Phu shared.
