It is Vietnam Taekwondo’s second gold medal at this year’s championships, further highlighting Le Kim’s strong performance.
Earlier, on September 18, Le Kim and Nguyen Thien Phung won gold in the U50 mixed pair standard poomsae event. The pair defeated opponents from Myanmar, Chinese Taipei, Türkiye and Iran before overcoming the Danish duo in the final.
In the U50 women’s team event on September 19, the trio of Tuyet Van, Le Kim and Tuyet Mai continued to show strong coordination and composure under pressure.
After defeating Mexico in the second round, the Vietnamese athletes beat hosts South Korea in the semifinals before overcoming Germany in the final, successfully defending the world title they won in 2024.
Nguyen Thi Le Kim has therefore been part of both of Vietnam Taekwondo’s gold-medal performances at the 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, further raising Lam Dong sports’ profile internationally.
