Lam Dong Targets Health Screening Completion by Nov. 30
Lam Dong is stepping up health screening and free preventive examinations for residents, with the provincial administration setting a target of largely completing the program by November 30, 2026.
On September 24, Dinh Van Tuan, Member of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting to review the implementation of Official Dispatch No. 1129, issued by the Prime Minister on September 16, 2026, as well as provincial directions on periodic health check-ups and free screening for residents.

The meeting was held online from the headquarters of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, with connections to local authorities and medical facilities across the province.
According to a report presented at the meeting, as of September 19, about 2,642,206 people, or 67.7% of the province's population, had health examination-related information and data recorded since the beginning of 2026.
This included 368,373 children under six, 769,505 people aged six to under 18, and 1,504,328 people aged over 18.
The proportion is expected to reach around 70% by the end of the third quarter of 2026.
Localities face funding and capacity challenges
Local authorities reported a number of difficulties in implementing the program.
Several localities said they remained uncertain about identifying funding sources and completing procedures to select healthcare providers to conduct the examinations.
The capacity of local medical centers is also limited, particularly when examinations need to be organized at the village level for residents in remote and isolated areas.

Some localities proposed expanding the selection process to include qualified private clinics, provided they meet the required conditions and professional standards.
The proposal is intended to increase available medical personnel and facilities while helping localities meet the required implementation schedule.

Representatives of provincial departments and agencies advised local authorities to proactively select approaches suited to their actual conditions while ensuring compliance with regulations.
They also called for closer coordination between grassroots authorities and healthcare facilities to organize examinations efficiently and conveniently for residents.
Lam Dong targets basic completion by November 30
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Dinh Van Tuan asked commune-level People's Committees to urgently complete the procedures for selecting healthcare providers to examine residents who have not yet received health check-ups, following guidance from the Department of Finance.
Local authorities were also instructed to accelerate health screening in accordance with the provincial plan.

If difficulties or obstacles arise during implementation, local authorities must proactively contact relevant provincial departments and agencies for timely guidance.
They were also encouraged to communicate with localities that have already implemented the program effectively to learn from and share practical experience.
The provincial administration has set November 30, 2026, as the target date for largely completing health screening across the province.
Vice Chairman Dinh Van Tuan called on leaders of provincial departments, agencies and localities to maintain a high level of focus, strengthen the responsibility of those in charge and address bottlenecks decisively.
The aim is to ensure that residents can access and benefit from periodic health check-ups and free screening under the province's healthcare policy.
