Lam Dong Television Singing Festival: Paving the Way for Young Musical Talent
The first Lam Dong Television Singing Festival in 2026 aims not only to provide a platform for singing enthusiasts but also to discover promising vocalists, expand performance opportunities and connect young talent with the professional arts scene.

Under the theme “LTV – A Meeting Point for Musical Talent,” the festival is expected to spread a love of music, enrich cultural life and promote the image of a dynamic Lam Dong with a distinctive cultural identity.
Discovering and Nurturing Promising Voices
Held for the first time following the provincial merger, the 2026 Lam Dong Television Singing Festival is jointly organized by Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio and Television in coordination with the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It offers young singing enthusiasts an opportunity to showcase their abilities, establish their individual identities and test themselves on a professionally oriented stage.
Beyond identifying outstanding vocalists, the festival also seeks to discover emerging talent, help build a pool of performers for artistic activities and encourage young people to pursue their passion.

Le Huy Toan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio and Television, and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, said the event was intended to go beyond providing a platform for singing enthusiasts. It would also give talented singers who had not yet had the opportunity to perform on major stages a chance to demonstrate their abilities and gradually establish themselves.

In line with this direction, the festival focuses on enabling contestants to demonstrate their technical skills, performance styles and artistic identities. Through the competition, they will have opportunities to gain experience, build stage confidence and develop a clearer vision of their future artistic paths.
The festival is open to Vietnamese citizens aged 16 to 36 who meet the eligibility requirements. Contestants may select songs from three genres: classical vocal music, folk music and contemporary popular music. Entries should convey positive values, with songs celebrating the homeland, the country and the Vietnamese people, pure love, faith in life, the spirit of labor and the aspirations of youth.
The Organizing Committee encourages new works with artistic merit that express distinctive identities and reflect contemporary life.

According to the plan, the festival will consist of three rounds. The preliminary round is expected to take place from November 1 to 10, 2026, with each contestant performing one song of their choice. The semifinal is scheduled for November 20–21, 2026, with each contestant performing two songs of their choice. Based on professional assessments, the 10 strongest contestants will advance to the final.

The final and awards ceremony is expected to take place on December 29, 2026, at the outdoor stage in Lam Vien Square, Xuan Huong–Da Lat Ward. Each finalist will perform two songs: one of their choice and one about their homeland of Lam Dong.
The final will give contestants an opportunity to demonstrate their vocal abilities and performance styles while expressing their affection for and connection to the province hosting the festival.
Creating Opportunities Beyond the Competition
One notable feature of the festival is its focus on providing contestants with opportunities to develop after the competition ends. Rather than concentrating solely on rankings and prizes, the Organizing Committee aims to connect promising vocalists with performance programs, cultural activities and community events.

According to Le Huy Toan, prize-winning singers will have opportunities to participate in programs organized by Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio and Television. They will also be invited to perform at the closing program of the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival. These opportunities will allow the singers to perform on major stages, reach wider audiences and gain practical experience.
Emphasizing this approach, Le Huy Toan said: “Our goal is not simply to identify the prize winners, but also to create conditions for promising vocalists to continue performing, get closer to the public and grow through real-world artistic activities. For us, the value of the festival does not end when the final night is over.”

In addition to stage performances, award-winning singers will be encouraged to join the organization in social and charitable programs, using their voices and musical talents to serve the public. In this way, the festival seeks to connect artistic passion with social responsibility, encouraging young people to develop their abilities and contribute to society.
Notably, recognition and opportunities to reach wider audiences will not be limited to prize winners. Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio and Television Director Le Huy Toan said the Organizing Committee hoped to attract singing enthusiasts from Lam Dong and other localities. All participants, regardless of whether they win an award, will have an opportunity to introduce their voices through the organization’s media platforms.

This approach broadens the value of the competition. For young people pursuing music, stage experience, public recognition and opportunities to continue performing can all serve as motivation to improve their abilities. By connecting contestants with real-world artistic activities, the festival can become a starting point for their long-term development.

Regarding the prize structure, the Organizing Committee plans to award one first prize worth VND 50 million; two second prizes of VND 30 million each; three third prizes of VND 20 million each; and four consolation prizes of VND 10 million each.
Three additional awards are also planned: Best Performance of a Traditional Revolutionary Song, Youngest Contestant and Audience Favorite. Each award is worth VND 5 million. The 10 contestants reaching the final will also receive financial support to participate.
Spreading a Love of Music and Promoting Lam Dong
Against the backdrop of Da Lat’s recognition by UNESCO as a Creative City of Music, organizing a festival for young vocalists also carries significance in promoting creative potential, enriching cultural life and expanding performance opportunities across the province.

The festival is expected to add an artistic event to the program of the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival while creating more opportunities for young people to participate in local musical life. Through a diverse range of singers, songs and performance styles, Lam Dong will have further opportunities to introduce its image to residents and visitors through emotionally resonant cultural values.

From discovering talent to creating opportunities for development after the competition, the festival seeks to deliver benefits beyond the scope of a single performing arts event. When young vocalists are discovered, encouraged and given further opportunities, their passion for music can be nurtured and developed, contributing to cultural life and the wider community.
Under the theme “LTV – A Meeting Point for Musical Talent,” the first Lam Dong Television Singing Festival in 2026 is expected to become a meaningful gathering for singing enthusiasts, helping discover and nurture talent while promoting the image of a youthful, dynamic Lam Dong with a distinctive cultural identity.
