Lam Dong to Hold Marine Economy Development Conference from June 8–10
Lam Dong Province’s Department of Agriculture and Environment on May 27 convened a meeting to review preparations for the upcoming conference on Marine Economic Development.
Seeking New Growth Momentum from the Sea
According to the plan, the conference will take place in Phu Quy Special Zone from June 8 to 10, 2026. The event is considered an important initiative aimed at clarifying the role, potential, advantages and development orientation of the marine economy within Lam Dong’s new development space following the provincial merger.
The conference will also serve as a platform for the province to consult with scientists, experts and businesses in order to propose mechanisms, policies and solutions for sustainable marine economic development associated with the green economy, digital transformation, science and technology.
The program is expected to include two main components: a thematic conference and field study visits.
During the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and finalizing the program agenda, coordination among departments, sectors and relevant units, while also reviewing logistics, protocol, communications, security, technical preparations, delegate reception plans and conference service conditions.
Representatives from participating agencies also contributed recommendations to further improve the program, enhance the quality of presentations and ensure the event is organized in a practical, effective and professional manner.
Units invited to prepare papers, presentations and panel discussions were requested to submit their materials before June 1, 2026 to support editing, conference proceedings publication and final scenario preparations.
The organization of the Marine Economy Development Conference in Phu Quy is expected to help identify more clearly the marine and island potential and advantages within the province’s new development framework. At the same time, it is anticipated to open new approaches to policymaking, attract investment resources and promote the development of modern and sustainable marine economic models.
The conference is held under the theme: “Promoting Advantages and Creating Breakthroughs in Marine Economic Development, helping Lam Dong Rise in a New Era Together with the Nation.
