Lam Dong Vovinam Team Ranks 8th Overall at National Strong Teams Championship

On April 23, the Training and Sports Center under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong reported that the provincial Vovinam team, consisting of three coaches and 14 athletes, delivered an impressive performance, securing five medals.

Specifically, athlete Doan Minh Hoang won a gold medal in the men’s 64kg category; Nguyen Bao Han claimed a gold medal in the men’s 72kg category; Do Dinh Quoc earned a bronze medal in the men’s 57kg category; Nguyen Thi Cam Giang took a bronze medal in the women’s 70kg category; and Vo Le Ngoc Tram secured a bronze medal in the women’s 75kg category.

The 17th National Strong Teams Vovinam Championship 2026 organized by the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Vovinam Federation, took place from April 16 to 24 in Kon Tum Ward, Quang Ngai Province.

The tournament attracted 340 athletes from 23 participating units, competing for 48 sets of medals (26 combat events and 22 performance events). Athletes competed in various performance categories, including women’s and men’s individual routines, women’s pair routines, as well as men’s and women’s team events.

The championship also served as an opportunity for teams to evaluate their strengths and select athletes for the national squad ahead of the Asian Vovinam Championship, scheduled for late November in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
