Lam Dong Welcomes Around 650,000 Visitors During New Year Holiday
According to the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the 2026 New Year holiday, lasting four consecutive days from January 1 to 4, created favorable conditions for residents and tourists to take short trips.
During this period, tourism activities across the province were vibrant, with visitor numbers rising significantly compared to regular days.
The total number of tourists visiting and staying in Lam Dong was estimated at around 650,000, including approximately 30,000 international visitors. Tourism revenue was estimated at about VND 1.2 trillion.
The peak of overnight stays occurred between January 1 and 3. Average room occupancy rates at accommodation establishments across the province reached approximately 70–80 percent, while three- to five-star hotels recorded higher levels of 85–90 percent.
Earlier, the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism had implemented plans to organize the 2026 New Year Countdown Program at three locations: Lam Vien Square in Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward; the Provincial Exhibition, Theatre and Arts Center in Phan Thiet Ward; and Nam Gia Nghia Ward Stadium.
To ensure optimal conditions for visitors during the 2026 New Year holiday and the upcoming Lunar New Year of the Horse (Binh Ngo), the Department instructed People’s Committees of communes, wards, special zones, along with tourism management and business units to strengthen preparations for welcoming and serving tourists.
Key measures focused on maintaining security and public order, ensuring traffic safety, environmental sanitation and food safety, strictly implementing price declaration and public price listing, and selling services at listed prices. Hotlines were also publicized promptly to handle and assist tourists in case of unexpected situations.
