Lam Dong women actively prepare for upcoming elections
As Vietnam prepares for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and members of the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, Women’s unions across Lam Dong Province have been proactively implementing a wide range of activities to support the electoral process.

Raising awareness at the grassroots level
To help make election day a true festival for the entire nation, Women’s Unions at all levels in Lam Dong have stepped up outreach efforts, encouraging members to attend voter meetings, actively cast their ballots, and carefully choose qualified and capable candidates for the 16th National Assembly and members of People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term.
Election communication campaigns are also closely linked with raising awareness of women’s role in the political system, with flexible approaches tailored to the specific conditions of each locality.
In Lac Duong Commune — a remote area where ethnic minorities make up more than 82 percent of the population and residents are scattered across a wide and uneven terrain — the commune Women’s Union has worked closely with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other socio-political organizations to bring election information directly to local households.
Dong Gur K’An, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lac Duong Commune and Chairwoman of the commune Women’s Union, said the union has focused on raising awareness of candidate eligibility standards, voters’ rights and responsibilities, and the role of women in political participation and elections.
According to her, the union not only encourages women to participate fully in voting but also motivates them to confidently stand as candidates and actively contribute ideas to candidates’ action programs. These efforts help strengthen women’s position in society while ensuring that elected representatives remain close to the people and committed to serving public interests.
Phan Thi Vi Van, Vice Chairwoman of the Lam Dong Women’s Union, said the provincial Women’s Union has coordinated with and directed Women’s Unions at all levels to implement broad and regular communication campaigns about the election.
The communication activities are integrated into meetings of grassroots union branches and groups, as well as disseminated through the union’s official websites and the social media accounts of its members and officials.
Special attention has been given to promoting gender equality in politics, introducing female officials, providing information about female representatives and candidates’ action programs — particularly those of female candidates — and raising awareness about voters’ rights and responsibilities.
At the same time, the union closely monitors public sentiment among its members and women, especially in the period leading up to and during the election.
Women actively involved in election preparations
Across Lam Dong’s residential areas, women are actively taking part in election preparations, from communication activities and reviewing voter lists to helping arrange facilities at polling stations.
Many female officials and union members are also participating directly in election teams, assisting with ballot distribution and vote counting to ensure the electoral process is conducted in an open and transparent manner.
Women’s unions at various levels have also launched practical initiatives such as environmental clean-up campaigns, the “Each member – one green action” movement, and tree planting activities to improve public spaces.
In particular, female union members have taken part in decorating and cleaning polling locations and candidate information boards to ensure a tidy and welcoming environment so that election day truly becomes a festival of democracy for all citizens.
As preparations intensify for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and members of the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, women across Lam Dong are actively contributing with a strong sense of responsibility, helping ensure the success of the upcoming election.
