Launching the 2026 “Red Spring Festival” in Lam Dong

On January 20, in Duc Trong Commune, the Lam Dong Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, in coordination with the Duc Trong Commune Steering Committee, officially launched the 2026 “Red Spring Festival”—a key event of the voluntary blood donation campaign during the Lunar New Year.

Spreading Compassion at the Start of Spring

The 2026 campaign carries the message “Donate Blood in Early Spring – Multiply Happiness”, aiming to ensure a safe and sufficient blood supply for emergency care and medical treatment during the Lunar New Year, a period when demand typically rises.

Attending the launch ceremony were Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation; and Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh, Standing Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Chairman of the Lam Dong Red Cross Society and Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee.

The event also gathered representatives of provincial departments and mass organizations, local authorities, along with nearly 400 officials, union members, volunteers, and outstanding blood donors.

A Festival of Humanity and Cultural Values

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Dinh Van Tuan emphasized that voluntary blood donation is a noble act reflecting the Vietnamese tradition of compassion. He affirmed that the Red Spring Festival has become a meaningful annual event, making an important contribution to timely blood supply, especially during the Lunar New Year.

“The Red Spring Festival is not merely a medical activity; it has become a festival of compassion and a humane cultural hallmark of Lam Dong every Tet holiday. Each donated drop of blood carries the spirit of solidarity and the enduring value of ‘loving others as oneself’ within the community.”

He called on officials, civil servants, armed forces, and people from all walks of life to continue actively participating in voluntary blood donation. He also urged health authorities and the Red Cross to closely coordinate in organizing donation sites that are safe, scientific, respectful, and efficient.

Strong Participation, Meaningful Results

Immediately after the ceremony, leaders, delegates, volunteers, and local residents took part in blood donation in a vibrant and responsible atmosphere.

In 2025, Lam Dong Province collected 18,512 units of blood, including 4,078 safe units through the Red Spring Festival alone—demonstrating the growing impact of the movement.

In response to the launch, Mr. Tran Van Hai, Vice Chairman of the Duc Trong Commune People’s Committee and Head of the local Steering Committee, reaffirmed the commune’s commitment to strengthening communication and facilitation efforts to further expand participation in voluntary blood donation.

Recognizing Outstanding Contributions

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented commemorative flags and flowers to the Duc Trong Commune Steering Committee as the host unit, and awarded certificates of merit to 12 collectives and 14 individuals for their outstanding achievements in voluntary blood donation in 2025.

The event concluded with a lively and orderly blood donation session, reflecting the strong sense of responsibility, solidarity, and compassion of the people of Duc Trong Commune and Lam Dong Province in the early days of the new spring.
