Lien Khuong Airport Expected to Resume Operations on August 19
After more than six months of closure for runway and taxiway upgrades, Lien Khuong International Airport is expected to reopen and resume flight operations from August 19, 2026.

Reopening Plan Submitted to Aviation Authorities
According to a document recently submitted by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and the Aeronautical Information Center, the airport is scheduled to resume operations at 00:00 on August 19, 2026.
The proposed timeline is based on the current progress of the project to upgrade and repair the airport’s runway and taxiway system, which has been under construction since March 2026.
Lien Khuong Airport was temporarily closed following a decision issued by the Ministry of Construction on February 12, 2026, to facilitate a comprehensive overhaul aimed at enhancing aviation safety and operational capacity.

Construction Accelerates Toward Completion
Construction activities are currently being carried out around the clock, with contractors working day and night to ensure the project remains on schedule.
The upgraded runway, taxiway system, and associated infrastructure are steadily taking shape, while aviation equipment and technical systems are also being prepared for operational testing and commissioning.
ACV has requested guidance and support from aviation authorities to complete all necessary procedures, ensuring the airport can safely resume services as planned.

Boost for Tourism and Regional Connectivity
The anticipated reopening of Lien Khuong Airport is expected to provide a major boost to Lam Dong’s tourism industry and economic recovery.
The return of domestic and international flights will make travel more convenient, strengthen trade and investment connections, and support the growing number of visitors heading to Da Lat and the Central Highlands during the second half of 2026.

The reopening will also restore a key transportation gateway for the region, helping reconnect Lam Dong with major destinations across Vietnam and international markets.
