First Flights Mark Return to Service
On August 18, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said agencies, local authorities and relevant units were urgently completing the final preparations for the inauguration ceremony, scheduled for the morning of August 19.

Along with the ceremony, Lien Khuong International Airport will welcome its first five flights, marking the official resumption of operations after the completion of the runway and taxiway repair project.

To prepare for the important event, the provincial People's Committee has instructed departments, agencies, localities and relevant units to urgently carry out their assigned tasks. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been tasked with coordinating preparations to welcome delegates and organize activities for the inauguration ceremony.

Security and safety measures have also been put in place. Lam Dong Provincial Police has deployed personnel to maintain security, regulate traffic and ensure public order throughout the event. The People's Committees of Duc Trong and Hiep Thanh communes are coordinating efforts to ensure security and order and maintain environmental sanitation and landscape quality along relevant routes.

ACV and Lien Khuong International Airport have been asked to urge contractors to accelerate construction, complete the remaining works, clear construction areas and ensure cleanliness and landscaping around the airport. They are also coordinating with airlines and relevant units to ensure all necessary conditions are in place for activities under the inauguration program.

Restoring a Key Aviation Gateway
The completion of the project and the resumption of operations at Lien Khuong International Airport will restore air services at an important aviation gateway for Lam Dong and the Central Highlands. It is expected to meet travel demand from local residents and visitors while supporting the province's socio-economic development.
Following the reopening, flight connections to Lien Khuong International Airport will gradually be restored, with an estimated frequency of 36–40 flights per day. The airport is expected to serve around 6,800 passengers daily and approximately 816,000 passengers during the final four months of 2026.
