Lien Khuong International Airport to Temporarily Close from March 4 to August 25, 2026
The Minister of Construction on February 12 issued a decision to temporarily close Lien Khuong International Airport to facilitate construction works on the runway and taxiway system, aimed at ensuring operational safety and improving the airport’s capacity.

According to the decision, the airport, located in Duc Trong commune, will suspend operations from 00:00 on March 4, 2026, until 23:59 on August 25, 2026 (local time). The closure will allow contractors to carry out key components of the project titled “Repair of Runway and Taxiway at Lien Khuong International Airport,” which has been approved by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam and appraised by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam in accordance with regulations.
The Ministry of Construction has assigned the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to announce the temporary closure through the aeronautical information system and notify relevant agencies, local authorities and stakeholders to coordinate implementation, ensuring safety, security and construction progress.
Relevant agencies — including the Construction Infrastructure Department, the Southern Airports Authority, Airports Corporation of Vietnam, Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation and Lien Khuong International Airport — are required to closely coordinate during the project and address arising issues in line with regulations.
The runway and taxiway upgrade is considered an urgent requirement to enhance aviation safety standards, improve infrastructure quality and meet growing passenger and cargo transport demand, while creating favorable conditions to promote socio-economic development and tourism in Lam Dong Province and the surrounding region.
