More than 100 overseas Vietnamese attend Lunar New Year gathering in Lam Dong
More than 100 overseas Vietnamese joined the “Homeland Spring” gathering in Lam Dong Province to celebrate the 2026 Lunar New Year, reflecting strong bonds between the locality and its expatriate community worldwide.

The event was organized by the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong Province. Attendees included Ho Van Muoi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee; Bui Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee; Da Cat Vinh, Member of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Council; and Truong Van Tung, Member of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong Province, along with representatives of provincial departments and agencies and overseas Vietnamese from various countries.

At the gathering, provincial leaders extended New Year greetings and highlighted key policies related to overseas Vietnamese. Participants were briefed on Lam Dong’s socio-economic achievements in 2025, development orientations for 2026 and the coming period, as well as the outcomes of the first Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term.
Provincial authorities emphasized that the province’s progress in recent years has benefited significantly from the contributions and investment of overseas Vietnamese. Lam Dong reaffirmed its commitment to addressing difficulties and creating favorable conditions for expatriates wishing to visit, live and invest sustainably in their hometown.

Participants expressed appreciation for the attention and support shown by local leaders and voiced confidence in the province’s future development under the leadership of provincial authorities.
Lam Dong currently has more than 60,000 citizens living and working abroad, with remittances to the province reaching approximately USD 77 million in 2025 — an important source supporting local socio-economic growth.

Held annually since 2010, the Homeland Spring program has become a meaningful tradition, serving as a bridge connecting the province with overseas Vietnamese communities around the world while strengthening national solidarity.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Muoi praised the contributions of overseas Vietnamese to Lam Dong’s development and reaffirmed the province’s commitment to creating favorable conditions for expatriates to invest, do business and settle in the locality. He noted that Lam Dong is prioritizing upgrades to transport and digital infrastructure, including Lien Khuong Airport, expressways and key regional connectivity routes, to enhance investment attraction.

He encouraged overseas Vietnamese to act as bridges connecting Lam Dong with international partners and to inspire younger generations studying and living abroad to return and contribute to the province’s development. The chairman also expressed hope that expatriates would continue preserving Vietnamese cultural identity and strengthening friendship between Vietnam, Lam Dong and the global community.

On this occasion, Lam Dong authorities presented Lunar New Year gifts to overseas Vietnamese as a gesture of good health, prosperity and happiness for the Year of the Horse 2026.
