Nearly 12 Million Tourists Visit Lam Dong in the First Six Months of 2026

During the first six months of 2026, Lam Dong Province recorded an estimated 11.995 million tourist arrivals. Tourism revenue exceeded VND 33.31 trillion, reaching 46.95% of the yearly plan.

The figures were announced during a meeting of the Lam Dong Tourism Development Steering Committee chaired by Dinh Van Tuan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Steering Committee, to review tourism performance in the first half of the year and outline priorities for the remaining six months.

Provincial officials said the strong tourism performance has created favorable conditions for Lam Dong to achieve its target of double-digit economic growth in 2026.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province has continued to strengthen tourism development through improvements in policy, institutional frameworks and planning.

Authorities have also accelerated initiatives supporting community-based tourism, the night-time economy and tourism safety, while expanding destination marketing campaigns and regional cooperation through a series of major tourism events.

Tourism businesses have actively participated in promotional programs aimed at stimulating visitor demand, helping reinforce Lam Dong's position as a comprehensive destination with diverse tourism experiences across the province.

Despite the progress made, tourism development in Lam Dong Province still encounters several challenges and limitations. Notably, the transportation infrastructure is not adequately integrated, and the quality of tourism workforce varies, impacting the overall service standards and reputation of the province’s tourism sector.

During the meeting, members of the Steering Committee highlighted that to meet the 2026 goals of attracting over 25 million visitors and generating more than VND 71 trillion in tourism revenue, it is essential for departments, agencies, sectors, and localities to enhance collaboration and thoroughly address existing shortcomings.

In his concluding remarks, Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Lam Dong Tourism Development Steering Committee, affirmed that the province has significant potential and advantages to develop tourism into a key driver of economic growth.

He called on provincial departments and local authorities to adopt more innovative approaches, strengthen inter-agency coordination and focus on developing distinctive tourism products that highlight the unique characteristics of each destination.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was tasked with continuing to improve tourism-related policies while expanding destination promotion and tourism stimulus programs.

Other departments were instructed to address bottlenecks related to planning, land use, infrastructure development and investment attraction, while supporting the expansion of community-based tourism, the night-time economy and new tourism products.

Provincial leaders also urged members of the Tourism Development Steering Committee, government agencies and local authorities to work more closely together, maximize the strengths of each locality and introduce breakthrough solutions to improve service quality and reinforce Lam Dong's image as a safe, welcoming and high-quality tourism destination.

Lam Dong aims to welcome more than 25 million visitors and generate over VND 71 trillion in tourism revenue in 2026, contributing to the successful achievement of the province’s double-digit economic growth target.
