Environmental clean-up activities were launched in Phan Thiet Ward.

Key priorities include expanding digital technology applications in managing and operating rural water supply systems while encouraging residents to take daily actions to preserve a clean and sustainable environment.

Localities launch environmental clean-up campaigns

At the end of April 2026, alongside the rest of the country, Lam Dong launched coordinated activities in response to National Clean Water and Rural Environmental Sanitation Week, coinciding with the beginning of the summer tourism season.

In recent days, many coastal localities across the province have organized campaigns to collect waste, clean public spaces, parks and beaches.

Nguyen Hai Anh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City visiting Doi Duong Beach (Phan Thiet), shared: “This summer holiday, I chose Phan Thiet for my vacation. Seeing local residents, authorities and organizations actively collecting waste and cleaning parks and beaches creates a beautiful image for tourists. We are also more conscious of preserving a green, clean and beautiful environment throughout our trip.”

Activities are taking place from April 29 to May 6, 2026, extending to World Environment Day on June 5 in conjunction with other major celebrations and local festivals.

Strengthening communication and raising public awareness

Across the province, local authorities are intensifying public awareness campaigns to encourage residents and visitors to protect the environmental landscapes and use water resources efficiently.

Mass media outlets and social media platforms are being used extensively to raise awareness and promote behavior change in water conservation and environmental protection.

Residents are also receiving guidance on water treatment, storage and efficient use, particularly during the 2026 dry season.

According to Tran Van Liem, Director of the Provincial Center for Rural Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation, key messages such as “Ensure safe water supply and storage to respond to drought, water shortages, and saltwater intrusion” and “Communities join hands to maintain green, clean, and beautiful rural environments” have been widely implemented across Lam Dong.

More than 200 roadside banners have been installed along major routes in key wards including: Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Lam Vien - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat, Dong Gia Nghia, Bac Gia Nghia, Nam Gia Nghia, Phan Thiet, Phu Thuy, Ham Thang ...

Joint efforts to protect water resources and improve quality of life

Through these activities, Lam Dong is strengthening community awareness and responsibility for protecting water resources, conserving clean water, maintaining environmental sanitation and improving personal hygiene to prevent disease.

Relevant departments and agencies are simultaneously implementing measures to address domestic water shortages, maintain water supply systems and ensure proactive clean water reserves.

Supporting a nationwide campaign for sustainable rural development

On March 24, 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment issued Official Dispatch No. 2743/BNNMT-TL to launch National Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation Week nationwide.

This campaign involves ministries, sectors, local authorities and socio-political organizations, further amplifying messages on water conservation, safe water use and digital transformation in rural water management.

The initiative contributes significantly to building green, clean, beautiful and sustainable new rural communities.
