Opening the Door to High-Tech Agricultural Investment in Western Lam Dong
Relevant authorities and local governments are paving the way for priority high-tech agricultural projects by creating favorable conditions to attract private investment.

Restored land in Nhan Co and Kien Duc communes
Following a presentation by leaders of Nhan Co Commune, we visited an area of restored land that local and provincial authorities are promoting for investment in a high-tech agricultural project . The land was rehabilitated after bauxite mining, which provided raw materials for the Nhan Co Alumina Plant. In line with the approved restoration plan, the mining company carried out environmental rehabilitation and returned the land to the local authorities for management and use.
Phan Anh Tuan, a member of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Nhan Co Commune Party Committee, expressed: "We aim to attract top investors in agricultural production, processing, and marketing to develop value chains for the commune's key products, such as coffee, pepper, fruit, vegetables, and other agricultural goods."

The local authorities are actively seeking investment in two major projects: one centered on high-tech agricultural and forestry production, medicinal plant cultivation, and livestock production, while the other involves the development of a high-tech agricultural zone spanning over 500 hectares in Nhan Co and Kien Duc communes.
These projects are expected to draw both domestic and international investments. They aim to capitalize on the Nhan Co–Kien Duc region’s large, contiguous land areas by developing high-tech agricultural infrastructure and establishing raw-material production zones.
They will focus on high-tech and smart agriculture, post-harvest processing, green farming models and circular economy approaches, incorporating medicinal plants, perennial crops, and high-tech livestock farming to enhance land-use efficiency and provide sustainable livelihoods for residents in the area.

Additional competitive advantages
Located approximately 100 kilometers north of Nhan Co and adjacent to Dak Lak Province, Cu Jut Commune is actively seeking investment in livestock feed manufacturing projects with annual production capacities ranging from 150,000 to 300,000 tons. The proposed facilities are planned to cover about 8 hectares and are estimated to require an investment of VND 200 to 600 billion.
According to a representative of the Cu Jut People's Committee, this project is well suited to the region's plentiful resources of corn, cassava, and agricultural by-products, along with the increasing demand for animal feed both locally and in neighboring areas. The development of such projects would help ensure a steady supply of feed, lower production costs, and enhance the competitiveness of the livestock industry.
Cu Jut also benefits from excellent transport infrastructure, which provides convenient links to concentrated livestock farming areas in nearby communes such as Dak Wil and Nam Dong, while meeting the needs of livestock farmers in Krong No, Nam Nung, Quang Phu, and Quang Son through National Highway 28B.
Ngo Quoc Phong, Chairman of the Cu Jut People's Committee, said that the commune is actively looking for capable investors with adequate financial resources and experience. "We are dedicated to assisting investors throughout the implementation process and addressing any issues within the authority and responsibilities of the local Party committee and government."

Strong expectations for high-tech agriculture
The western region of Lam Dong consists of 28 communes and wards and features over 378,000 hectares of agricultural land, accounting for 58% of the total natural area in the region.
Discussing the area's development potential, Tran Van Dieu, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment, said that beyond the already announced projects, western Lam Dong is focusing on various additional investment opportunities. These opportunities include initiatives in high-tech agriculture, forestry, cultivation of medicinal plants, and livestock production in Quang Phu Commune, as well as the Dak Nong High-Tech Agricultural Zone located in Dong Gia Nghia Ward.
The deputy director highlighted that all the projects align with the updated Lam Dong Provincial Master Plan for 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050, as approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee through Decision No. 2786/QD-UBND dated June 6, 2026.
He noted that land ownership and legal status have been well-defined, offering investors advantageous conditions for executing the projects.
