Over 1,000 Athletes Compete in 50km Trail Running Race in Lam Dong
On the morning of January 10, more than 1,000 athletes took part in the 50-kilometer distance of the Vietnam Highlands Trail – Lam Dong 2025, a challenging trail running event held in Lam Dong province.

The race took place at the Tuyen Lam National Tourist Area. Under the region’s characteristic weather conditions, temperatures dropped to around 8 degrees Celsius, with thick fog covering the starting area. Despite the cold and limited visibility, the early morning atmosphere remained vibrant, fueled by the determination and enthusiasm of the runners.
Starting at dawn in the biting cold and navigating rugged terrain was considered the first major challenge—and also the most memorable experience—for athletes competing in the 50km distance, the longest and most demanding category of the race.

The Vietnam Highlands Trail – Lam Dong 2025 marks the return of the event after a temporary postponement. Originally scheduled for November 2025, the race was suspended due to the impact of storms and heavy rainfall.
The successful resumption of the event reflects significant efforts by the organizing committee, which includes the People’s Police Sports Association, the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, and Nexus Media Joint Stock Company, under the direction of the Ministry of Public Security.
According to the organizers, the race attracted a total of 1,031 athletes, including 15 international runners from seven countries and territories. Competitors participated in three race distances: 10km, 25km, and 50km.
Notably, race results are officially recorded in the international trail running ranking system, contributing to the professional standing and growing prestige of the Vietnam Highlands Trail.
As scheduled, athletes are expected to reach the finish line throughout the afternoon, with the award ceremony set to take place at Lam Vien Square, located beside the scenic Xuan Huong Lake.
