Phan Thiet invests in urban infrastructure
Located in the southeastern part of Lam Dong Province, Phan Thiet Ward is accelerating investment in urban infrastructure to match its role as a coastal tourism hub. Backed by public investment, the locality is upgrading urban areas to become cleaner, greener and more modern while supporting economic growth.
Upgrading the Urban Landscape
Construction on the VND 200 billion project to upgrade Tran Hung Dao Street, the ward's main thoroughfare, is set to begin in the second half of July 2026. Spanning 2.6 km, the project includes road resurfacing, underground power and telecommunications lines, a new lighting system and improvements to Tran Hung Dao Statue Park. The upgrades are expected to improve transport, enhance the urban environment and better serve both residents and visitors.
Earlier, the VND 13.6 billion renovation of Water Tower Park, one of Phan Thiet's best-known landmarks, was completed in late 2025. The project helped preserve the historic site, expand green space and create a more attractive public area. The ward is also investing VND8.7 billion to upgrade infrastructure along the Ca Ty River.
In 2026, Phan Thiet Ward was allocated more than VND 10.5 billion in public investment for 10 projects, including five new projects and five in the preparation stage, focusing mainly on upgrading key roads and residential alleys.
Accelerating Project Delivery
Tran Nguyen Loc, Chairman of the Phan Thiet Ward People's Committee, said the ward has prioritized public investment disbursement since the beginning of the year by implementing coordinated measures to speed up project delivery. By June 30, 2026, the disbursement rate had exceeded the committed target of 40%, reaching nearly 54% in early July.
All newly launched projects to renovate government offices and upgrade schools are expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2026. Meanwhile, projects in the preparation stage, including road and drainage upgrades in residential areas north and south of the Ca Ty River, are also being accelerated.
In addition to the projects already underway, the ward has proposed two new provincially funded projects this year to upgrade sidewalks, drainage systems, street lighting and traffic signs on several roads. It is also coordinating with relevant agencies on site clearance for three provincial projects: the upgrade of Tran Hung Dao Street (from the April 19 Roundabout to Tran Phu Street), Road No. 2 in the Hung Long service, park and resettlement area, and the Ca Ty River embankment project (from Duc Thanh Bridge to Ung Van Khiem Street).
For the 2025 - 2030 period, the Phan Thiet Ward Party Committee aims to build the ward into a smart, modern urban area. To achieve this, the locality will mobilize resources to accelerate priority infrastructure projects in residential areas, including the expansion and upgrading of alleys, drainage systems and street lighting.
