After more than seven months of research and experimentation, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hiep from Xuan Truong - Da Lat Ward, has successfully extracted active compounds from red pine trees cultivated and thriving in his own garden.

Using raw materials from the fruits, leaves, and bark of red pines over 20 years old, Hiep processed them through an extraction system he designed and assembled himself. The system operates continuously for several days, producing a liquid extract — approximately 50cc of active compound from every 100 kilograms of raw materials. The extraction line and process were refined after nearly 20 trial runs.

Hiep has spent two decades studying and producing red pine tea, a blend of red pine and 20 medicinal herbs, known to help boost the immune system and inhibit cancer cell metastasis. In May 2025, his red pine tea was recognized by the Asian Economic Research Institute as a high-quality product and service.

The successful extraction of red pine active compounds — including taxol, a substance known for its cancer treatment properties — marks the next milestone in Hiep’s journey to develop valuable red pine-based medicinal products.
