Lam Dong proactively ensures vegetable and flower supply for Lunar New Year 2026
In response to rising consumer demand ahead of the Lunar New Year 2026, Lam Dong Province has proactively implemented production plans for vegetables and flowers at appropriate scales and with balanced structures, ensuring a stable supply for the market.

According to the report of the Sub-Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, the total vegetable cultivation area for the Winter–Spring crop of 2025–2026 across the province is estimated at 28,225 hectares, with an output of approximately 940,460 tonnes.
Of this, around 22,800 hectares are dedicated specifically to vegetables for the Lunar New Year 2026, with an estimated output of nearly 790,000 tonnes. To date, about 20,550 hectares have already been planted, largely meeting the planned production schedule.
Vegetable production for the Tet holidays focuses on traditional groups such as leafy vegetables, root crops and fruit-bearing vegetables, while also expanding higher-value vegetable varieties to meet increasingly diverse market demand.

Although production was affected by post-storm circulation from Typhoons No. 13 and 14 during October–November 2025, which caused damage to several key vegetable-growing areas, favorable weather conditions toward the end of the season have enabled rapid recovery. As a result, crops are now growing steadily, ensuring both output and quality for the Tet market.

Alongside vegetables, flower production remains a key strength of Lam Dong’s agriculture during the Tet season. The total flower cultivation area for the Winter–Spring 2025–2026 crop is estimated at 4,242 hectares, with an output of around 1.7 billion stems. Of this, approximately 4,000 hectares, producing an estimated 1.6 billion stems, are designated specifically for the Lunar New Year market.
Key flower varieties such as chrysanthemums, roses, gladiolus, lilies and carnations are being produced using high-tech farming methods, with a focus on improving quality and appearance to meet market preferences.

Overall assessments indicate that favorable climate and soil conditions, combined with the proactive efforts of local authorities, businesses and farmers, have helped stabilize vegetable and flower production across the province, ensuring readiness for the peak Tet season.
