Lam Dong accelerates provincial master plan submission for appraisal in May 2026

Lam Dong authorities are fast-tracking the completion of their revised provincial master plan for 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050, aiming to submit it for appraisal within May in line with government directives.

Tight timeline for submission and approval

At a meeting on Tuesday, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong People’s Committee Nguyen Hong Hai chaired a session with the Department of Finance and relevant agencies to assess progress on the planning revision.

According to the Department of Finance, the drafting and adjustment process has been implemented in a coordinated manner, including consultations with central ministries, local authorities and provincial departments regarding the consolidated report.

The province has also established an appraisal council, issued guiding documents and conducted social feedback processes, while uploading planning dossiers to the national planning information system in compliance with regulations.

Under the proposed timeline, the revised planning dossier is expected to be finalized between May 8 and 10, submitted for appraisal on May 11, and circulated to appraisal council members on May 12. The appraisal council is scheduled to convene in mid-May, with final approval targeted before May 31.

Leadership calls for urgency and quality

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Hong Hai stressed the requirement to complete the planning adjustment within May 2026, urging all agencies and consultants to intensify efforts and adhere strictly to deadlines.

He directed relevant units to accelerate the completion of the strategic environmental assessment report and finalize the planning documentation immediately following public consultations, while ensuring quality and consistency.

Key components—particularly proposals regarding the location and structure of administrative centers—must be carefully studied and supported by scientific and practical evidence before submission to competent authorities.

The provincial steering committee was tasked with coordinating closely with the Department of Finance to consolidate feedback, especially on critical issues, to finalize the draft decision for approval.

Strategic importance for future development

Following appraisal conclusions, agencies are required to promptly incorporate feedback and complete procedures for submission to the provincial People’s Council and People’s Committee in accordance with legal requirements.

Officials emphasized that accelerating the provincial planning process is a critical task, providing a foundation for socio-economic development, spatial organization and investment attraction in the coming period.
