In the early days of June, police officers, youth union members, and community digital technology teams in various localities across the province have been actively present at village cultural houses, schools, and residential areas, and have directly visited households to guide residents through the installation and use of the VNeID application.

In Dak Mil Commune, the campaign focuses heavily on supporting the elderly, residents in remote and isolated areas, and individuals with limited digital literacy. Volunteer youth squads are coordinating with the commune police force to visit villages and bons (ethnic minority hamlets) to help residents install the app, activate Level 2 electronic identification accounts, and utilize online public services.

Empowering Citizens through Technology

Through the initiative, many residents have gained access to and started utilizing key digital features, including electronic identification cards, integrated driver's licenses, health insurance, and social insurance on VNeID.

Citizens can now conduct numerous transactions directly via smartphones, reducing the need to carry multiple physical documents or make repeated trips to government offices for administrative procedures.

Notably, the task forces are not only providing instructions but also delivering hands-on, step-by-step guidance to help residents familiarize themselves with digital platforms. As a result, many elderly people and rural residents who were previously hesitant about technology have confidently adopted digital utilities into their daily lives.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Trieu Nguyen Dung, Chief of Dak Mil Commune Police, emphasized that the campaign serves as a practical initiative to leverage the core, pioneering role of grassroots police forces and community digital technology teams in implementing Project 06.

By providing direct guidance within residential areas, the campaign successfully bridges the gap between digital utilities and the public, enabling citizens to efficiently exploit the VNeID app, access online public services, and navigate essential digital platforms.

Widespread Impact Across Localities

The momentum is not limited to Dak Mil. In Bao Lam 4 Commune, local police have partnered with schools to guide parents and students in using VNeID. They are also raising awareness of identity card issuance and electronic identification registration for children aged 6 to under 14, a crucial preparatory step in fostering early digital habits among the younger generation.

From ethnic minority communities to densely populated areas of the province, the "Digital Summer with VNeID" campaign is generating widespread community impact.

Several localities have established five to six specialized youth volunteer squads dedicated to supporting digital citizenship, activating VNeID, issuing identity cards for students, promoting online public services, and driving the "Digital Literacy" movement. These squads serve as an extended arm of the grassroots police force in bringing digital transformation to every individual.

In remote and underserved communes, police forces and community digital teams have split into small groups to reach individual households. This flexible approach not only saves residents time and travel expenses but also helps ensure equal access to digital technology for all groups of residents.

The "Digital Summer with VNeID" campaign runs from June 1 to August 31, 2026. Across all participating localities, the unifying principle remains centered on citizen service. Every activity is geared toward ensuring that citizens understand, utilize, and benefit from digital platforms.

From registering electronic ID accounts and accessing online public services to adopting cashless payments and storing documents electronically, citizens are becoming increasingly proactive in the national digital transformation journey.
