Originating in India more than 5,000 years ago, yoga emphasizes harmony between the mind, body and nature.

Recognizing its positive contribution to public health and well-being, the United Nations proclaimed June 21 as the International Day of Yoga in December 2014. Since the inaugural celebration in 2015, the event has grown into a worldwide movement involving tens of millions of participants each year.

The 12th International Day of Yoga in Lam Dong reaffirmed the province's close cooperation with India and further strengthened cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries through a shared commitment to health, wellness and international friendship.
