Lam Dong women promote family values
A series of activities marking the 25th anniversary of Vietnam Family Day in Lam Dong has strengthened community bonds while promoting the enduring values of family life in modern society.

Bringing activities closer to communities
To mark the 25th anniversary of Vietnam Family Day (June 28, 2001- June 28 2026) and the 2026 Action Month for Children, Women's Unions across Lam Dong organized a range of community-based activities centered on strengthening family values.
In Don Duong Commune, the celebrations featured a ceremony honoring 33 exemplary families and the "Warm Family Meal" cooking contest, organized by the local Women's Union. According to Quach Nu Hong Chuyen, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Chairwoman of the Don Duong Commune Women's Union, the program attracted broad participation from women and their families. She said the cooking contest not only showcased culinary skills but also highlighted the importance of family meals in modern life.
Similar activities have been held across the province since early June, including forums, cultural and sports exchanges, family club gatherings and ceremonies recognizing outstanding families. Through these events, the Women's Union continues to promote happy, prosperous and civilized families, raise awareness of domestic violence prevention, and advance campaigns such as "Five No's, Three Clean, Three Safe" alongside the movement to build the modern Lam Dong woman.

Supporting disadvantaged children
Alongside efforts to promote family values, Women's Unions across Lam Dong organized a range of programs during the Action Month for Children to support and protect disadvantaged children.
The organizations distributed more than 1,380 gifts, scholarships and financial support packages, while mobilizing over VND 253 million in donations for children and low-income families. The "Adoptive Mother" program also continued to connect orphaned children with organizations and individuals, providing long-term support for their education and daily lives.
More than 2,000 women and children also benefited from health check-ups, medical consultations and life-skills education. The provincial Women's Union, in coordination with Thu Duc Prison, organized a program promoting the core values of Vietnamese women. The event also presented gifts to 20 rehabilitating female inmates, 47 children of inmates and 6 pregnant inmates. The initiative aimed to encourage rehabilitation and support inmates' reintegration into society.
According to H'Vi Eban, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong Province and Chairwoman of the provincial Women's Union, supporting women in building happy families remains a key priority under the Vietnam Family Development Strategy through 2030. She emphasized that family is the foundation of society and that activities marking Vietnam Family Day help strengthen family bonds, preserve cultural values and educate younger generations.
