Lam Dong Ranks 24th Nationwide in GRDP Growth

Economic indicators improve despite growth remaining below target
On the afternoon of July 3, the Statistics of Lam Dong Province held a press conference to announce the province’s socio-economic statistics for the first six months of 2026. More than 20 journalists from central and local media agencies attended the event.
According to the Statistics of Lam Dong Province, the province's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) expanded by 7.90% in the first half of 2026, up two percentage points from the same period in 2025. With this result, Lam Dong ranked 24th among Vietnam's 34 provinces and centrally governed cities in terms of economic growth.
Although the growth rate fell short of the province's six-month target of 9.32%, improvements across multiple sectors indicate that the local economy continues to recover and maintain positive development momentum.
Agriculture, forestry and fisheries remained a stable pillar of the provincial economy. Industrial production sustained solid growth, with manufacturing continuing to serve as the primary driver.
Construction and investment activities also gained momentum. Retail sales and service revenues posted strong increases, while tourist arrivals continued to rise.
State budget revenue recorded positive results. Credit activities continued to provide capital for the economy, investment attraction improved, and the number of newly registered enterprises increased significantly compared with the same period last year.
The province also maintained strong performance in cultural and social sectors. Numerous cultural, sports, tourism and heritage conservation activities were organized, helping promote Lam Dong's image while enriching community life.
Education and healthcare services continued to receive priority, while social welfare policies were implemented in a timely manner.
However, economic growth remained uneven across sectors during the first half of the year. Progress on several key infrastructure projects was slower than expected, public investment disbursement remained below target, and agricultural production continued to face various risks.
At the press conference, journalists from central and local media organizations raised numerous questions regarding Lam Dong's socio-economic performance. They requested further analysis of each sector's contribution to the province's GRDP.

Reporters also sought forecasts for economic growth in the third and fourth quarters, asking the Statistics of Lam Dong Province to identify the province's growth drivers and positive prospects supporting Lam Dong's ambition of achieving double-digit GRDP growth by the end of 2026.

Pham Quoc Hung, Head of the Statistics of Lam Dong Province, stated that the province's socio-economic achievements in the second quarter and the first six months of 2026 reflected the provincial leadership's timely, flexible and effective governance. He also emphasized the active contributions of government agencies, local authorities, the business community and residents.
Despite continuing economic challenges, the Statistics of Lam Dong Province, together with provincial departments, sectors and local authorities, will strengthen forecasting capacity and closely monitor growth scenarios to achieve the highest possible results for the province's 2026 development targets.
During the first six months of 2026, Lam Dong recorded nearly VND 52 trillion in total social investment, up 14.35% year-on-year. The industrial production index increased 9.6%, while 2,382 new enterprises were established, representing a 58.38% increase compared with the same period in 2025.
Total retail sales and service revenue exceeded VND 97.6 trillion, up more than 17% year-on-year. The province welcomed nearly 12 million visitors, an increase of 18.5% over the previous year.
State budget revenue surpassed VND 18.6 trillion, fulfilling more than 54% of the annual target and increasing 11.06% year-on-year. Outstanding loans provided by credit institutions reached more than VND 374 trillion, nearly VND 4 trillion higher than at the beginning of 2026.
