Lam Dong Launches 2026 "Green Summer" Volunteer Campaign

The Lam Dong Provincial Youth Union officially launched its 2026 "Green Summer" volunteer campaign on July 12, drawing the participation of more than 1,000 youth union members, association members, students, lecturers, and volunteers.

This year's campaign is particularly significant as it is the first to be implemented across the newly consolidated Lam Dong Province following the recent administrative reorganization.

Under the implementation plan, more than 500 volunteers from six local universities and colleges will join teams operating in Quang Truc, Hong Son, Lac Duong, Don Duong, and Phan Son communes, as well as Lang Biang ward.

Additionally, 715 volunteers from universities and colleges outside the province will spearhead community projects in the communes of Nam Da, Quang Phu, Tuy Duc, Quang Truc, Dak Sak, Dak Mil, Thuan Hanh, Truong Xuan, and Thuan An.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Tran Diep My Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, emphasized that the "Green Summer" campaign serves a dual purpose. Beyond delivering tangible infrastructure and community service projects, it provides a vital environment for youth union members and young people to hone their resilience, cultivate revolutionary ideals, and foster civic responsibility.

Tran Diep My Dung urged the volunteer units to champion creativity and pioneering spirits to effectively execute projects tailored to the practical needs of local communities. She also called on every volunteer to uphold the campaign's core ethos throughout their deployment: "Welcomed by the people upon arrival, loved by the people during their stay, trusted by the people through actions, and missed by the people upon departure."

Guided by the overarching motto "Go to understand, Go to share, Go to contribute, Go to mature," the volunteer teams will execute a wide range of practical initiatives. Key focus areas include accelerating digital transformation through "Digital Summer" and "Digital Literacy Class" programs, transferring scientific and technological advancements in agricultural production, supporting youth startups, contributing to rural development programs, protecting the environment, providing medical check-ups and treatment, caring for children and families under social policy coverage, and implementing other social welfare activities.

The launching ceremony concluded with the official introduction of the designated "Green Summer" task forces, the presentation of motivational gifts to the teams, and a formal flag-raising send-off ceremony, officially commencing the 2026 "Green Summer" volunteer campaign.
