Vietnamese litigation firm Le & Tran has been ranked in three international legal directories for the 2025–2026 cycle, in Dispute Resolution and in Employment.

Chambers Asia-Pacific 2026 ranks the firm in both Dispute Resolution and Employment, and recognises founding partner Stephen Le individually in those practice areas. Legal 500 Asia-Pacific 2026 ranks the firm in Dispute Resolution: Litigation and in Labour and Employment. Stephen Le has separately been named a top lawyer in Vietnam by Asia Business Law Journal, which included him in its A-List 2025, an annual selection of the country’s 100 leading practitioners compiled from peer review, client feedback, and case complexity.

The rankings cover two areas that have drawn steady demand from Vietnam’s business community as dispute resolution norms, foreign investment rules, and workforce structuring continue to shift. Contract terms that once resolved commercially are increasingly tested in court or before arbitral tribunals, where the question is rarely whether a right exists but whether it can be proved and enforced under Vietnamese procedure.

“Recognition like this belongs to the team and to the clients who put their confidence in us,” said Stephen Le, CEO and Lead Counsel of Le & Tran. “We do not lead with awards; we lead with results. This year’s listings are a reminder that consistent, disciplined work in the courtroom is still the most reliable form of credibility in our profession.”

Leadership

Le & Tran is led by its Founder and Chairman, Stephen Le Hoang Chuong, one of Vietnam’s most recognized litigators with approximately 20 years of experience in white-collar criminal defense and complex commercial disputes. Stephen previously practised at Baker & McKenzie and has since represented over 50 multinational corporations and advised close to 200 individual clients, including CEOs, business owners, and high-net-worth individuals. Committed to combining legal excellence with business leadership, he is currently pursuing an EMBA at Singapore Management University and attending Harvard Law School’s Program on Leadership in the Legal Profession. For ten consecutive years through 2026, he has been recognized by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation, and Asian Legal Business as a leading lawyer in Vietnam and Asia.

Practice Areas

Le & Tran’s practice spans litigation, regulatory advisory, corporate transactions, and private client matters. The firm’s core areas include:

  • Dispute Resolution and Litigation: commercial disputes before Vietnamese courts, enforcement, and asset recovery
  • International Arbitration: proceedings before VIAC, SIAC, ICC, and other arbitral institutions
  • Employment and Labor: dispute litigation, termination and severance, collective labor relations, and compliance
  • White-Collar Crime: criminal defense in fraud, bribery, and corruption matters; internal investigations and regulatory enforcement defense
  • Banking and Finance: investment structuring, AML compliance, securities, cryptocurrency and digital assets, project finance, and financial services regulation
  • Energy, Environment and ESG: oil and gas, renewable energy, environmental law, mining, climate change, and ESG advisory
  • Intellectual Property: trademark, copyright, patent, and trade secret protection, enforcement and defense against infringement, and licensing disputes before Vietnam’s specialized IP courts and administrative authorities
  • Corporate and Commercial: M&A, due diligence, business registration, contract negotiation, corporate governance, franchising, licensing, and international trade
  • Legal Retainer: ongoing counsel on a monthly or annual basis for companies operating in Vietnam without in-house lawyers, covering day-to-day questions, contract review, employment issues, and early risk assessment, handled in English and Vietnamese
  • Corporate Counsels, the firm’s corporate advisory arm, supports multinational corporations, investors, and senior executives with legal counsel spanning corporate governance, regulatory compliance, employment structuring, internal investigations, and risk management.
  • Family Lawyers, Le & Tran’s private client and family law practice, advises high-net-worth individuals, founders, and expatriates on complex personal and family matters, including divorce, child custody, asset division, inheritance disputes, and cross-border family issues.

Fee arrangements are agreed in writing before work begins. Scope, rates, and estimates are set out at the outset, invoices are itemised against them, and retainer or fixed-fee structures are available where a client prefers predictable cost. The firm works with clients from the point a risk first surfaces through to enforcement, on the view that the strongest position in a dispute is usually built well before proceedings begin.

What Clients Say

The following client feedback was collected by Chambers Asia-Pacific through its independent research interviews.

“Focused, informed and applicable guidance has been given swiftly throughout, resulting in the desired outcome.”

“They are always very well organised and make it very easy for the client, providing explicit instructions on what needs doing and how.”

“The firm has a strong knowledge of labour issues and provides high-quality legal services.”

“They are so fast to respond and very accurate with their advice. It’s exactly what you want from a legal service.”

About Le & Tran

Le & Tran was founded in 2011 by Stephen Le, who started the firm from a small office at Saigon Tower with two legal assistants. It has since grown into an independent, English-speaking law firm in Vietnam, working from its own building in Phu Nhuan District in Ho Chi Minh City and a second office in Hanoi.

The firm is structured as a litigation boutique rather than a full-service practice. Its work centres on dispute resolution, commercial arbitration, white-collar crime, labour and employment, judgment enforcement, and asset recovery, with advisory and private client teams operating as Corporate Counsels and Family Lawyers. Much of the client base is foreign-invested: multinationals, their Vietnamese subsidiaries, and the executives who run them. Matters are handled in English and Vietnamese.

Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, and Asia Business Law Journal are widely regarded as among the most rigorous independent directories in the legal industry, with rankings determined through independent research, client and peer interviews, and case-level analysis.
