More Than 100 Shooters Compete at the 2026 Summer Cup Shooting Championship
The 2026 Summer Cup Shooting Championship, one of the highlights of the 2026 Sports Festival, has brought together more than 100 domestic and international athletes competing for 48 sets of medals.
On the afternoon of July 31, the Vietnam Shooting Federation, in collaboration with the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association, hosted the opening ceremony of the 2026 Summer Cup Shooting Championship – Sports Festival Lam Dong 2026. This event aims to enhance the tourism image of Lam Dong and its neighboring areas through sporting activities.
The competition is being held from July 30 to August 2 at the NovaWorld Phan Thiet tourism complex, located in Tien Thanh Ward, Lam Dong Province. Over 100 domestic and international athletes are competing for 48 sets of medals in air pistol, air rifle, and Compak Sporting events, participating in both individual and team categories.
A standout feature of this year's tournament is the inaugural nighttime Compak Sporting competition. Under specialized lighting systems, the illuminated clay targets test shooters' vision, reflexes, accuracy, and ability to remain composed under pressure.
This event not only offers athletes a distinctive competitive experience but is also anticipated to deliver thrilling action, helping increase the appeal of shooting sports among spectators.
As stated by Do Van Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Shooting Federation, the goal of the tournament is to promote the growth of sport clay shooting in Vietnam while establishing a new platform for athletes and fans of the sport.
Through this tournament, the organizers also seek to identify, train, and cultivate young athletes with the potential to participate in domestic and international competitions in 2026 and beyond.
