A key highlight of Lam Dong's investment attraction strategy is a growing pipeline of major infrastructure and urban development projects, including proposed coastal transport routes and eco-urban developments.

A new development space

More than a year after the administrative restructuring, Lam Dong is entering a new phase of development. The province's expanded geography, stretching from the Central Highlands to the coast, is creating significant new opportunities and strengthening its appeal to investors.

According to an investment promotion plan announced by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the province currently has 72 projects seeking investment through 2030, covering urban and residential development, tourism, agriculture and forestry, and transport infrastructure.

Among the projects are the Truc Lake Eco-tourism Area in Cu Jut Commune, covering 22.5 hectares; the Tuy Duc Wind Power Plant in Dak Song Commune, covering approximately 750 hectares; and the Lang Biang Urban Area in Lang Biang–Da Lat Ward, covering more than 21 hectares.

In addition, To Thuong Group has surveyed and studied several major projects in Lam Dong, including the Gia Nghia–Bao Lam strategic road, the Phan Thiet–Bao Loc–Gia Nghia Expressway, and the renovation and upgrading of urban technical infrastructure around Xuan Huong Lake.

As the country's largest province following the administrative restructuring, Lam Dong now has a much broader land base and development space for major infrastructure projects. Alongside its target of achieving double-digit economic growth, the provincial government is prioritizing investment attraction in infrastructure, transport and urban development projects where the province has strong competitive advantages.

The province's determination was evidebeing a recent working session between Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai, relevant departments and BCONS Investment and Construction JSC. At the meeting, Bui Truong Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, outlined several strategic projects currently being promoted to investors.

Lam Dong will accompany investors and create favorable conditions for capable enterprises to participate in large-scale infrastructure and urban development projects. This will help the province effectively tap its potential and advantages and promote socio-economic development in the years ahead.

One of the most prominent proposals is the coastal road from Phu Thuy through Phan Thiet to Tien Thanh, approximately 14.6 kilometers long. The route would connect the DT706B roundabout in Phu Thuy Ward with the Cambodia Slope intersection on DT719 in Tien Thanh Ward and would feature six motor-vehicle lanes.

The project is divided into five investment sections, with an estimated total investment of approximately VND9.493 trillion, placing it in Group A under Vietnam's public investment classification.

The coastal road and an overpass along the route would involve approximately 84.8 hectares of land reclamation. Once planned and developed, the reclaimed areas are envisioned as a modern urban district integrated with the natural environment, featuring coastal green corridors and central parks.

Government commitment to investors

With its expanded development space, southeastern Lam Dong also has potential for eco-urban development and transit-oriented development (TOD) — an urban planning model centered on public transportation and integrated with residential, commercial and service areas.

According to the Department of Construction, the proposed TOD Urban Area in Binh Thuan Ward would cover nearly 200 hectares. The project is designed around public transport and aims to anticipate the development of the North–South high-speed railway while supporting high-quality services.

Another proposal, the Hung Vuong Park and Northern Flood-Control Canal Urban Area, covers approximately 300 hectares. Within it, a 32.36-hectare area in Phu Thuy Ward is undergoing detailed planning, with the aim of increasing green space and improving urban infrastructure in line with the province's development strategy.

Lam Dong's appeal — particularly in the southeastern part of the province — comes not only from its natural advantages and abundant land resources, but also from the determination of the provincial leadership to promote investment.

Provincial leaders have repeatedly emphasized that no department, agency or locality can remain on the sidelines of investment promotion efforts.

During working sessions with major economic groups, including To Thuong Group, BCONS, Kita Group, Vietnam Rubber Group and other strategic investors, provincial leaders have welcomed proposals and pledged to create favorable conditions for businesses to conduct surveys, study projects and move toward implementation.

Administrative and planning obstacles have also been addressed with an emphasis on practical solutions, efficiency and the broader interests of local socio-economic development and residents' livelihoods.

Clearly, the province's new administrative scale, combined with an expanding interregional transport network — from expressways and coastal roads to the planned high-speed railway — is opening a significant window of opportunity for Lam Dong.

Looking ahead, southeastern Lam Dong and the province as a whole are positioned to capitalize on this momentum. The combination of long-term planning by the government and the financial resources and management expertise of major investors could help transform Lam Dong into a leading marine tourism, urban development and smart-economy center linking the South Central Coast and Central Highlands in the country's new development era.

According to Lam Dong Statistics, since the beginning of 2026, the province has approved investment policies for and received proposals for a number of large-scale projects. In the first seven months alone, Lam Dong attracted more than 60 investment projects with total capital exceeding VND200 trillion, mainly in the industrial and energy sectors.
