Lam Dong promotes tourism opportunities in Hanoi
Lam Dong’s Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, in coordination with relevant agencies and organizations, hosted a tourism promotion conference in Hanoi on August 11, aiming to strengthen partnerships, expand markets and prepare for a new growth phase following the reopening of Lien Khuong International Airport.
Representatives attending the event included Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism; Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Tourism Association; tourism officials from Hanoi and several northern provinces and cities.

The Lam Dong delegation was led by Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, along with Ton Thien San, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nghiem Dinh Hieu, Director of the Lam Dong Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, and representatives of tourism businesses and travel companies.
Building momentum ahead of airport reopening and flower festival
Opening the conference, Nghiem Dinh Hieu said the event came at a particularly significant time, with Lien Khuong International Airport scheduled to resume operations on August 19 following a major infrastructure upgrade.

He also highlighted the upcoming 11th Da Lat Flower Festival 2026, one of the province’s flagship cultural and tourism events, which will take place later this year.
The festival is expected to provide an important platform for introducing Lam Dong’s distinctive natural landscapes, cultural heritage, people, agricultural products and tourism experiences to domestic and international visitors.
According to Nghiem Dinh Hieu, the newly expanded Lam Dong Province is more than a merger of three administrative areas. Instead, it represents the convergence of unique advantages, including the highland climate and agricultural strengths, rich cultural heritage and forest resources, as well as coastal and island tourism assets and broader trade connections.
When effectively linked together, these assets can help create longer travel itineraries, diversify tourism products and expand market opportunities.
Strengthening partnerships with northern tourism markets

“Tourism promotion is about practical questions: How do visitors travel to Lam Dong? Where do they stay? What experiences do they enjoy? Which tours do they join? What do they buy? And can businesses from both sides start selling those products together immediately? That is the discussion we want to have at this conference,” Nghiem Dinh Hieu said.
The province hopes the conference will encourage travel companies, accommodation providers, tourist attractions and tourism partners in Hanoi and northern Vietnam to develop specific programs that bring more visitors to Lam Dong while increasing awareness of the province’s tourism offerings in northern markets.

A vision for sustainable tourism growth
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman Dinh Van Tuan welcomed the contributions and recommendations from participating organizations, describing them as valuable inputs for improving the province’s tourism policies and development strategies.
He said Lam Dong will continue implementing comprehensive measures to develop tourism in a more professional, modern, high-quality and sustainable manner.
The province views businesses as strategic partners, visitors as the center of service delivery and regional cooperation as a key driver for market expansion.

Lam Dong will focus on developing tourism products associated with its new destination brand, “Lam Dong – The Journey of Sea, Flowers and Great Forests.”
The province also plans to intensify tourism stimulus programs and maximize the advantages created by its expanded development space following administrative restructuring.
Following this conference, we expect travel companies, airlines, accommodation providers and service suppliers to translate today’s agreements into practical cooperation programs. These partnerships will help create new tourism products, promotional campaigns and effective tour routes, attracting more visitors to Lam Dong in the final months of 2026 and beyond.
