Lam Dong Public Investment Disbursement Must Accelerate
Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has called on agencies, local authorities and project owners to make stronger efforts to accelerate public investment disbursement, which has reached only 39% of the annual plan.

Lam Dong public investment disbursement remains low
The Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee held a conference on August 26 to review socio-economic development, national defense and security in August and the first eight months of 2026, while setting out tasks and solutions for the coming period.
The conference was co-chaired by Ho Van Muoi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Vo Ngoc Hiep, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Leaders of provincial departments, agencies and units attended the conference. The meeting was also connected online with 124 communes, wards and special administrative zones across Lam Dong.

Addressing the conference, Chairman Ho Van Muoi said the province is currently facing a heavy workload and mounting pressure across multiple areas. Lam Dong has made significant efforts and demonstrated strong determination in carrying out its tasks, contributing to positive socio-economic results.
However, several challenges remain, particularly the low rate of public investment disbursement. By the end of August, the province had disbursed only 39% of its planned public investment capital.
Public investment disbursement has improved, but the rate remains low. The most important task now is for departments, agencies and local authorities to accelerate implementation. With stronger determination and more decisive action, Lam Dong is confident that disbursement can go well beyond the current level.

Chairman Ho Van Muoi emphasized that September 2026 will be a particularly important period for the province. It will provide an opportunity to clearly identify achievements as well as outstanding problems and take immediate corrective measures.
With only a limited amount of time remaining in 2026, provincial departments, agencies, units and local authorities were asked to propose solutions to accelerate implementation and improve the performance of key targets.
Chairman Ho Van Muoi stressed the importance of stronger coordination across the political system, expressing confidence that Lam Dong can achieve better results on its socio-economic targets if all levels and sectors act with greater urgency.
Lam Dong records positive economic growth

According to the conference's assessment, Lam Dong's socio-economic situation continued to show positive developments in August and during the first eight months of 2026.
Agricultural production remained on schedule, while industrial production maintained relatively strong growth. Tourism promotion and demand-stimulation programs were stepped up, attracting a large number of domestic and international visitors.
State budget revenue also showed positive signs. The province attracted a significant number of non-budget-funded investment projects, with substantial registered capital. The number of newly established businesses and businesses returning to operation also continued to rise.
Social welfare, culture, sports, healthcare and education remained key areas of focus. National defense, security and social order were maintained.
However, public investment implementation and disbursement continued to lag behind expectations. Renewable energy projects also faced difficulties in completing procedures required for connection to the national power grid.
The provincial government said the remaining months of 2026 will be critical for accelerating implementation, particularly in public investment, while maintaining momentum in economic growth and addressing bottlenecks in major projects.
As of the end of August 2026, Lam Dong's state budget revenue exceeded VND23.3 trillion, equivalent to nearly 68% of the local budget estimate.
The province attracted 59 newly licensed investment projects, with total registered capital of more than VND167 trillion and US$7.7 million.
Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue exceeded VND132.755 trillion, up more than 18.52% year on year.
Lam Dong's export turnover reached more than US$2.242 billion, equivalent to over 62% of the annual target and up 4.39% year on year.
The province welcomed nearly 16.5 million tourist arrivals, an increase of 18.9% compared with 2025. Tourism revenue exceeded VND45.6 trillion, up 22.31% year on year
