Bai Da Ong Dia Park ready for Vietnam's National Day holiday
Just days remain until Bai Da Ong Dia Park in Phu Thuy Ward, Lam Dong, is officially inaugurated. With a completely new look, the park is ready to welcome visitors during the September 2 National Day holiday and is expected to become an appealing new coastal tourism attraction.
In the final days of August, workers at Bai Da Ong Dia Park were busy completing the finishing touches. These included installing decorative lighting, planting more trees, cleaning the grounds and erecting signs marking basket boat mooring areas. The entire site is being given a fresh look, with work progressing on schedule.
According to the Phu Thuy Ward People's Committee, the park is nearly complete after four months of construction. It is ready for its inauguration on August 29. The project was financed through private funding, with Hung Loc Phat Phan Thiet Investment Company Limited contributing the total cost of VND 11 billion.
The project, themed "Touch the rocks and hear the sea tell its story", aims to create an open space that harmoniously combines nature, local culture and community activities.
The inauguration is expected to mark the emergence of a new destination, helping diversify tourism offerings in Phu Thuy Ward and eastern Lam Dong while attracting domestic and international visitors.
According to the design, the project comprises several components. These include a central square for community activities, a "Wind Village" recreating the lives of coastal fishing communities and a marine ecology-themed children's playground. Green spaces, lighting and public amenities are also being developed in an integrated manner.
The project is intended not only to improve the landscape but also to preserve the area's inherent values. It is expected to create fresh momentum for sustainable tourism development in Mui Ne.
Located at the gateway to the Mui Ne National Tourist Area, the project is expected to enhance the natural landscape of the central coastal area following the administrative boundary merger.
Many visitors have been impressed by the project's architectural highlight: rows of three-legged concrete blocks lining the coastal road and breakwater. Painted in vibrant colours, they form a colourful wall that appeals to photography enthusiasts.
The contractor has also completed a national flag-lined walkway, where red flags bearing yellow stars flutter in the wind and create a striking scene.
Nguyen Thanh Trung, a visitor from Ho Chi Minh City, said: "I visited this area last weekend and was particularly impressed by the national flag-lined walkway running alongside rows of multicoloured concrete blocks. Together, they create a scene that is both solemn and youthful, making it ideal for visitors to take photos during the September 2 National Day holiday."
According to Trung, the project is particularly meaningful because the national flag-lined walkway stands amid the vast sea and sky. It can help people, especially younger generations, deepen their love for their homeland and strengthen their sense of responsibility for protecting the country.
During an on-site inspection in early August, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh commended the collective efforts of the Phu Thuy Ward leadership. He also praised its project oversight, which has helped keep construction on schedule.
Once completed, the project will help improve the urban landscape and create a modern green space for residents' recreation, entertainment and exercise. It will also become an attractive destination for residents and visitors.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Minh asked local authorities to continue mobilising private contributions and encouraging businesses in the ward to plant more trees at Bai Da Ong Dia Park.
He also requested additional mooring posts and called on residents to anchor their basket boats in designated areas, helping keep the surroundings green, clean and attractive.
