Lam Dong sees surge in visitors over National Day holiday

Mui Ne draws strong tourist crowds

Along Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Huynh Thuc Khang, and the main routes leading into the Mui Ne National Tourism Area in Lam Dong Province, traffic and visitor numbers rose sharply throughout the holiday period.

Ahead of the break, resorts, hotels, restaurants, and recreational spots upgraded facilities, enhanced service standards, and added appealing offerings to meet the leisure and experiential demands of travelers.

Nguyen Kieu Oanh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, shared that her family planned early and booked their hotel room more than a month in advance to secure favorable rates.

"The weather in Mui Ne was quite cool during the National Day holiday, and my family enjoyed many activities such as swimming in the sea, sandboarding, watching pottery artisans at work, and tasting fresh seafood dishes," Oanh said.

Nguyen Duc Tien, a representative of Mui Ne Bay Resort, stated that from August 29 to September 1, occupancy was consistently high. The resort introduced extra activities to help guests immerse themselves fully and enjoy a comfortable vacation.

Beyond Mui Ne, nearby coastal areas such as Tien Thanh and La Gi also welcomed large crowds. At the mini Bau Trang area in La Gi Ward, thousands gathered at the beach early in the morning to watch the sunrise, swim, and enjoy the fresh air.

Featuring long stretches of sand and calm waters, this new spot has become a popular destination for both tourists and locals.

Meanwhile, in the Tien Thanh area of Lam Dong Province, Bikini Beach Square bustled every afternoon. During the holiday, the location hosted numerous events including folk games, clown interactions, music shows, DJ sets, and live band performances on the beach stage. A giant kite festival also added to the visitor experience.

At Ong Dia Rock Park, a destination newly opened in late August, large numbers of visitors arrived to sightsee and take photos.

Ong Dia Rock Park was developed to create a new public space and community area for residents and travelers.

Lam Dong tourism revenue estimated to exceed 1.4 trillion VND

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong Province, from August 29 to September 2, the province welcomed approximately 680,000 visitors, representing a 15 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025. Total revenue from tourism activities reached an estimated 1,410 billion VND.

Accommodations saw the highest concentration of guests between August 29 and September 1. Average room occupancy across lodging establishments reached 65 to 70 percent, while three to five star hotels recorded occupancy rates of 80 to 85 percent.

During peak days from August 30 to September 1, several accommodation facilities across the province achieved 100 percent occupancy.

To serve visitors, various cultural, artistic, athletic, and promotional events were staged across the province. These included art performances celebrating National Day on September 2, a tourism promotion and linkage conference for Mui Ne, Phu Thuy, Phan Thiet, Tien Thanh, and Hoa Thang, along with photo exhibitions and entertainment activities.

The resumption of operations at Lien Khuong International Airport on August 19 also facilitated travel connections, catering to tourists arriving in Lam Dong during the holiday.

Over the five day period, public order, traffic safety, fire prevention, and food safety across tourist sites were well maintained.

Tourism service prices, particularly lodging rates, remained largely stable. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong Province reported no instances of price gouging or tourist solicitation during this year's holiday.
