More Than VND 2.7 Billion in Vallet Scholarships Awarded to Students in South Central and Central Highlands Regions

The Rencontres du Vietnam Science and Education Organization has awarded 129 Vallet scholarships worth more than VND 2.7 billion to outstanding and disadvantaged high school and university students in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions.

Scholarships support outstanding and disadvantaged students

On September 3, in Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward, Lam Dong Province, the Rencontres du Vietnam Science and Education Organization awarded 129 Vallet scholarships for 2026, with a total value of more than VND 2.7 billion, to students from the provinces of Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong.

The ceremony was attended by Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh; Mr. Espéran Padonou, Vice Chairman of the Vallet Scholarship Foundation and Executive Director of the Vallet Scholarship Foundation in Vietnam; and representatives of the Rencontres du Vietnam Science and Education Organization.

At the ceremony, the organizers awarded 99 scholarships worth VND 17 million each to high school students from regular and specialized high schools and ethnic minority boarding schools, as well as students who have overcome difficulties to achieve good academic results.

Another 30 scholarships, worth VND 34 million each, were presented to university students from Da Lat University, Nha Trang University, the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Tay Nguyen University, as well as six students who have overcome difficult circumstances.

Scholarships encourage students to pursue their dreams

Espéran Padonou, Vice Chairman of the Vallet Scholarship Foundation and Executive Director of the Vallet Scholarship Foundation in Vietnam, said the scholarships would support students on their educational journeys.

He expressed his hope that the recipients would continue striving for better academic results, develop their talents, build their own futures, support their families and contribute to the development of the country.

Since 2001, the Vallet Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than 55,000 scholarships worth over VND 600 billion to students across Vietnam. In 2026 alone, the Rencontres du Vietnam Science and Education Organization is awarding 2,151 Vallet scholarships with a total value of nearly VND 50 billion.

The Vallet Scholarship was established by French scholar Professor Odon Vallet from his inherited wealth to support and encourage students who have achieved outstanding academic results and overcome difficult circumstances to pursue their studies.

In Vietnam, Professor Odon Vallet entrusted the Rencontres du Vietnam organization, founded by Professors Tran Thanh Van and Tran Kim Ngoc, with managing the scholarship program, connecting with students and awarding scholarships to Vietnamese students.
